I've had MANY conversations with students who see this in themselves and friends: "persistence is reduced because AI conditions people to expect immediate answers thereby denying them the experience of working through challenges on their own." Arguments re: how could be used ≠ how it is being used.

Not sure how many average people realize it but virtually all of ancient history, all that we know about it, is predicated on like just three lucky archaeology sites globally and about 1% of 1% of 0.0001% of recorded knowledge.

So these are world shaking historical finds, taken in the long term.
Wow! Texts are super rare for the Hittites, basically there’s just one archive and it’s 95% lists of prayer sacrifices to mountain gods, so this is really, really exciting!
184 new cuneiform tablets ✍️ (total), dating to c.1400 BCE. “Preliminary examination of the texts has revealed references to military activities, epidemics, the death of an infant princess & requests for assistance sent to the king by Hittite military commanders” www.heritagedaily.com/2026/10/184-...

Voyager 1 is running on less memory than a single photo in your camera roll—69 KB. Its data is saved to an 8-track tape & software was developed when "the cloud" was in the sky. NASA sends commands and the old thing answers.
And yet your brand new laptop freezes because you opened too many tabs.

Magical creatures don’t exist, eh?

Roughly 400 million years ago, before the birth of trees, there were giant mystery cones called “Prototaxites,” which grew nearly 30 feet tall. We literally have no idea what they were.
