If you see someone at your child’s school wearing red (#ETFO) or purple (#CUPE) today it’s because they care about public education and how this govt’s intentional underfunding is affecting students.

P.S. We’ve been working without a contract since August 31.

This government is the worst especially if you have a child with special needs. By not funding the schools properly for children with special needs it affects all children.

Doug Ford should probably get Therme to open their big glass spa monstrosity in Niagara Falls instead of at Ontario Place since he believes it’s going to draw 2.5 million visitors a year. (It’s not.)

Rehome the animals and stick it at MarineLand which already has plumbing and parking, Doug.

Teachers are starting the school year with fewer resources, less support for students, and more restrictions on how and what to teach.

And it's a contract negotiation year.

I didn't become a teacher to fight with admin or a school board or the provincial govt but here we are.

Mayor Mamdani: AI is present in nearly every aspect of our lives. I am proud to announce New York City's first ever AI policy for our public schools. Children need teachers and human connection to learn and grow. This school year, we will implement a 1 year moratorium on AI from 2k through 8th grade

Honestly, fuck your feelings.

Canadians *think* Toronto is some violent cesspool because:
•Rightwing politicians campaign on it, it’s a convenient straw-man
•Rightwing media pushes their agenda
•THEY DON’T LIVE HERE

Inform yourselves or shut your mouth.

Violating and economically debilitating the most important city in your province out of ego, spite and lazy ideology. Doug Ford likes to attack Trump, but he’s the most Trump-like leader in Canada.
That’s almost the entire network. It’s so much worse than we feared 😔

The Ontario government is forcing public school teachers to buy classroom supplies through Staples, a major U.S. corporation. This won't fix what ails schools, not by a long shot, argues Nigel Bariffe of the Elementary Teachers of Toronto.

With the new school year about to begin, Nigel Bariffe, President of the Elementary Teachers of Ontario, argues that the province’s recent changes are taking education in the wrong direction…

American corporation Staples is charging Ontario teachers more for resources than they charge the general public, this comes as the Ford Government has forced teachers to buy resources from Staples. We are paying more for students to get less. #ontario #onpoli #dougford #onted #frankdomenic🍁

Staples (🇺🇸) is now open for some ON teachers. How do prices stack up against the TDSB supply centre for classroom basics?

TDSB: $290.38
Staples: $668.98
Staples Teachers: $584.56

But Paul Calandra took over the TDSB claiming financial mismanagement and Doug Ford wants you to #BuyCanadian.

Thanks for this, @eslfairy.bsky.social.

Our taxpayer dollars are being spent at an American company (in the middle of a trade war) that offers better deals to folks walking in off the street than to teachers ordering through the Ontario Ministry of Education portal. Make it make sense!!! #OntEd

Tomorrow, 80K elementary teachers each get $750 of the misappropriated money to buy overpriced classroom supplies at an 🇺🇸 corporation.
