WELL NOW, would you look at that?

A massive, 4-YEAR-LONG study of NEARLY 30 MILLION people in France found that individuals who received a COVID-19 mRNA vaccine had a 74% LOWER risk of death from severe COVID-19 compared to unvaccinated individuals and ZERO increased risk of all-cause mortality.

Trades. crafts, apprenticeships all gaining in respect as alternatives to absurdly expensive college ... unless the trade in question is perceived as women's work.

Cosmetology doesn't pay as a craft/trade because it is licensed & regulated in a way that ensures it doesn't.

RHG and his ilk's response will be to do some racecraft, insisting that these are Berbers and thus not really racially Black (while ignoring the ample evidence for dark-skinned Romans) and/or to just botch the chronology and claim that this was part of Roman decline.
I don’t think the roman helmet guys on musk’s csam emporium know this one (from josephine quinn’s how the world made the West)

Not to insomnia-weigh-in on the concept of restorative justice, but I thought long and hard ten years ago about what I would say if someone asked what Alex Kozinski could do by way of restorative justice.

(Nobody ever asked.)

There is a difference between saying ignorant things out of, well, ignorance (which is almost understandable, since we weren't widely visible until recently) and openly deciding that some people don't count as fully human and can be traded for votes. That second one is where we are.

They're holding up a major escalation in Iran and a crackdown on abortion until after the midterms to limit political damage.

To the extent that the last two years have been a right-wing smash-and-grab operation, the next two will be worse.
SCOOP: White House officials, led by Susie Wiles, have told DOJ to delay any abortion-related action until after the midterms

Wiles suggested to Todd Blanche that an aggressive approach on abortion would be negative for the GOP in November

Two thirds.

That's what they're saying, assuming they're not simply spouting nonsense. If we take them at their word, they believe two thirds of the country shouldn't be here.

There are only ~150.7 million non-white people in America.
Hundreds of millions of “illegal aliens” out of a population of 340 million? And also, you’ll never guess what Greg Bovino’s great great grandfather was doing in 1863.

Which tells me, personally, that if they truly believe that its OK to make a sentient being that they enslave, well, they probably think it's ok to do that to humans.
What I don't get with the whole "AI is sentient" slop that they're trying to sell us is--surely if AI were sentient, it would be a living being and as such humans wouldn't be allowed to exploit AI with no pay, no rest and no workers rights?

The report is the agency's latest effort to chip away at trust in established health care models for transgender people. Critics say it frames transgender identity as illegitimate or even dangerous.
