AI doom or not, something has shifted with AI recently. The guardrails that kept AI sitting in a chatbox are gone, the models are better, there's more compute.

Some folks are stockpiling medications in case their access to healthcare is stripped from them or criminalized, or as we're seeing in the UK criminalizing just going to the god damn toilet, we're facing a multitude of ways life for us is being made worse, inch by inch, and it's only getting worse.
