New — I wrote about this weird thing where people within the Republican party keep being exposed as Nazis and the party then tries to claim each one is an aberration. The facts, as I lay out here, indicate otherwise:
Republicans don’t have a Nazi problem—they are the Nazi problem
A spate of recent revelations have shown the ideologies and their adherents are one and the same.

Trump's arch will harm historic sites:

Federal officials acknowledge that Trump's planned triumphal arch will unavoidably harm historic sites if built as planned — but they say the project must move forward, according to a National Park Service document and emails obtained by The Washington Post.

Trump's sons get board seats. Their companies get federal contracts. Trump trades stocks from the Oval Office.

Every piece of this stinks: a family using the White House as a private ATM while ordinary people get crushed by bills they can barely pay.

ICE cannot be reformed. It must be abolished.
Based on my on-the-ground experience during last years raids in Los Angeles, currently in Philly, I’d estimate at least 25% of ICE agents are open White Nationalists.
Watch this one throw up a white power AND “heil Hitler” salute combo.

This is normal for ICE.
This is ICE culture, plain and simple.

The US already got a do over. A mulligan. A second chance.

Much of the world, especially US allies, were ready to write off Trump’s first term as a fluke.

The American people’s choice to put him back in power—as a convicted felon, after an openly bigoted, anti-democracy campaign—showed it was not.
This is the part many Americans -- including the Bezosites at the Washington Post -- don't understand. Canadians don't see this just as a Trump thing. It's that America elected him twice, and the second time with an even bigger mandate.

The problem we're addressing is America, not Trump.
"Out of spite for President Donald Trump, Carney is accelerating the decoupling of a trade bloc that has generated enormous prosperity for North America." Seriously, Wapo editorial - you're going with Canadian spite? www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...

It seems a little crazy to me for the president to refuse to repair a government building unless his name is put on it after Congress allocated the money for it. Seems like something Republicans running in the midterms should condemn. Unfortunately they are too afraid of Trump

All this is rhetorical, of course. I know why we have no such politicians. Because they'd be boring. We got Trump and a collapsing society because we confused politics and entertainment. Politics is supposed to be boring but enormously consequential—the opposite of entertainment.
