If I’m reading this correctly, Henrich assumes that an increase in calls for change in a discipline are evidence for increasing politicisation of that discipline (negative). His most highly cited paper - the WEIRD people paper- does just that!

The shifting of responsibility from “the village” to individual parents is likely a significant reason for low fertility. If the new eugenics will individualise reproduction still further, an “interesting” side effect may be even lower fertility
