Polish Foreign Minister Sikorski:

Kremlin’s assets frozen in Europe are never going back to Russia. They can be used in the future as war reparations or to help Ukraine rebuild, or they can be used now to help prevent further destruction and make future reconstruction cheaper.

Russia’s election data show 2 classic fingerprints of manipulation: as turnout rises, United Russia’s vote rises with it, creating the blue “comet tail”; repeated round-number results form dotted lines. Both are associated with ballot stuffing.

Putin doesn’t even pretend any more.

And yes, Moscow is actually voting today.

Trumpism doesn’t die with Trump – we need to wake up to the facts
It is fanciful to think that the unpredictable, aggressive and often self-sabotaging US will revert to its old ways once its current leader has gone. But, as Keir Giles explores in his new book, the f...

I read today in an article in The Daily Beast that some military leaders have privately begun referring to Pete Hegseth with the nickname "No Tab Pete" and I nearly spit my drink out.

I then realized that everyone should have the knowledge to appreciate this ruthless nickname.

Putin said that in 1999. No other prophet has ever made such a precise statement about himself that subsequently came true.

Absolutely disgraceful stuff from Mark Galeotti.

Whatever knowledge and expertise he may have, promoting the idea that Ukrainian civilians are merely "collateral damage" and are "getting in the way" of Russia hitting its real targets ought to be disqualifying. 🧵

My new piece for @centreeuropeanref.bsky.social : Ukraine can't become a full member of the EU without doing all its homework, but the EU can't leave it in limbo until it has finished. Both sides need some creativity & flexibility - & an appreciation of where their interests lie.
The #EU & #Ukraine have opened accession negotiations, but full membership is still far away. The EU must respond faster to the geopolitical imperative of keeping Ukraine in its camp.
