It’s been another expensive kitten season and I know we are all struggling, but if you have even a few extra bucks to help us save our girl, please send them our way.

Aww... look, she brought you some flowers!

Let's meet the American pika (Ochotona princeps).

The scientific name is from Mongolian 'ogotno' meaning "pika" & Latin princeps for 'first' or 'chief'.

They're lagomorphs, in the same taxonomic Order as rabbits & hares, but adapted to mountain environs.

This dude is a snake, a spineless Republican science experiment in a wig, dressed up like a Dem.

This is why I’m so against establishment Dems, a group that’s abandoned true progress. You can’t convince these ghouls there’s a better way when the same people writing checks for MAGA write theirs.

The Dallas Zoo & Fort Worth Zoo, both wonderful programs, are working with Texas Parks & Wildlife to restore wild populations of Texas horned lizards (Phrynosoma cornutum) via zoo breed & release programs.

2026 is already a RECORD year: > 1000 lizards released, with documented wild-born babies.

It's a rookie mistake to buy your dog a RED BALL/TOY.

Dog vision is dichromatic, meaning dogs can see greys, yellow & blues. A red ball, to dog-vision, is the same general color as green grass.

Stick to blues & yellows for high pupper visibility.

As a continual reminder, if I enjoy an art piece, I'll like/comment on it, but I can't repost you to my feed if you don't fill out your alt text y'all!

I've worked to make my feed 100% accessible since the beginning and I will be keeping it that way.

May I remind everyone that there is currently NO cure for rabies.

May I also remind everyone there is absolutely NO scientific proof connecting ANY vaccine that we produce today with autism.

This is true regarding vaccination in both humans AND in dogs.

Vaccinate your pets please.

Terrestrial air-breathing is really metabolically efficient relative to gills, but it also creates all sorts of challenges.

The air can be dirty, exposing your cells to toxins, irritants or pathogens.

This is why SNOT makes life on land *possible*.
Air-breathers are all about that mucus lifestyle.
Hey, #science Sky!
I was cleaning cat snot off my monitor, and wondered:
Is the sneeze reflex one of those things that re-evolved multiple times, or are all creatures which sneeze descended from a single ancestor who was the First Sneezer, Sneeze Prime, the Mother of Sneezes?

I really want to know!
