It's easier to think that people are cutting off their family because of social contagion or viral therapy trends than it is to accept that families are very often places of pain and domination where escape is the only alternative to lifelong misery or death.

Pen and watercolor A pack of witches dance around a fire circle summoning a massive demon in the flames. One of our witches is down though, reader. She lets her sisters know that she won’t be continuing the circle. “Gotta sit this one out, sisters,” she says. “Rolled my ankle.” I played around with adding a lot of detail to this scene (more shadows, trees in the background, etc.) I think the simpler version works but I’m not sure how I feel about the fire demon drawing. I think I like it. Was having trouble getting the composition of the scene set up with a text bubble in the bottom right. I do like the purple against the black dresses and little boots.

The amount of gender in these things is off the charts. They’re dude wipes (boy) but pumpkin spice (girl) but it’s actually dumpkin spice (???). They’re XL (boy) but plant-sourced (girl).

there’s so much to unpack here.
Stacks of Dude Wipes. The packaging is black on the left and orange on the right. The left has a white toilet with a pumpkin sitting on it with the :o expression on its face. Lucky for us, it says “plant sourced fibers” on the packaging. The scent…flavor…? is “DUMPKIN SPICE” and no, that is not a typo. Some packets have a sticker that says “XL WIPES 99% WATER AND PLANT BASED INGREDIENTS” others claim these are flushable wipes. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A FLUSHABLE WIPE YOUR PLUMBER WILL HAUNT YOUR ACTUAL ASS DONT DO IT.
