These are not “holding facilities” or “detention centres”.

We need to call them what they are: concentration camps.

The Trump regime is disappearing our family members, friends, neighbours, coworkers, and classmates to concentration camps, where they are abused and, in many cases, murdered.

"The Pentagon is sending a third aircraft-carrier strike group and additional Marine Corps ships to the Middle East, according to U.S. officials, adding 9,000 to 10,000 more troops to the region." Trump obviously wants to fire all remaining missiles and drones, to insure none are left.

"Had law enforcement and prosecutors engaged more thoroughly with Jane Doe’s original complaint, they might have tempered the vigilantism that would eventually tinge much of the response to the case."

This is such a critical point (made by Jessica Winter via @newyorker.com)—and a lesson for others.

The dismal responses from both the D.A. and the university reveal a larger pattern of institutional carelessness.

Journalists witnessed yesterday's botched execution in Tennessee and did their job by telling the public about it.

But Tennessee is fighting to stop the press from witnessing every stage of an execution, in a lawsuit brought by the AP. Nothing to hide, right?

I should note: the debate over Trump's decision to end the "sensitive locations" policy is arguably one of the biggest religion stories of his 2nd term, involving dozens of faith orgs/denominations in 4 separate lawsuits.

Over and over, it has directly pitted the admin against religious leaders.
Last year, a pastor saw masked immigration agents arresting someone at her church and filmed them.

DHS denied they were there.

A year later, DHS finally acknowledged the incident — days after WH border czar Tom Homan claimed "no one has been arrested at a church." religionnews.com/2026/09/30/t...
Do federal immigration agents make arrests at churches? Depends on what day you ask.
(RNS) — Over the past year, the Trump administration has issued contradictory and, at times, seemingly false statements about whether federal agents have conducted operations at churches.

ICE has notified me that another person has died in their custody. This is the 58th death under ICE’s watch since Trump returned to office.

That’s 58 too many. We need to dismantle ICE, eliminate private, for-profit detention centers, and reform our broken immigration system.
