A few people have suggested I make a gofundme if I want to have a chance to find a place this month lol, so i went ahead and put one together. I know not everyone can donate, but any bit and any shares are a massive help and mean the absolute world 💚 gofund.me/594bc715f

For $15, I got a used DVD player. It was so liberating to watch a movie with no interruptions. No ads! Nobody trying to sell me dubious meds with more side effects than benefits.

I can get DVDs at the library anytime I want! How did anyone ever convince me paid subscriptions WITH ADs were okay?!

I'm really, really, really tired of public health officials going out of their way to tell us that the dead had "underlying conditions" — a phrase so vague as to be useless in actually informing risk assessment. It's just ableism...
Why? "Underlying conditions" offers relief to a reader the coverage presumes is healthy. It works especially well because it is so vague. Without knowing the conditions these two lost souls had, readers can supply whatever medical history would make their deaths feel safely remote. 🧵

It will be worse than this! Most websites will be forced to ask you to send your ID to a third party surveillance service, adding a credit card won't be enough for most. Bluesky asks for your *social security number* if you live in Texas now, due to this shit.

Call in, and kill it.
This will be the US if the SCREEN Act passes. Call your Senators before August 5 and tell them that you oppose the SCREEN Act, KOSA, and the KIDS Act.

Use the official lookup tool at www.senate.gov/senators/sen... to find yours by state.

Right now the world is full of people who want to code and write and paint and film stuff and people who want to play and read and look at and watch stuff and nobody is allowed to do any of that because some unrelated third guy isn't making enough money off the deal
Our games industry is people. Our studios are people. Our teams people, our games by people for people. Our games are made by people, in groups of people, in teams of people, making people things for people.

The magic is people, and the people deserve so much better than all this. I am so sorry.

Saw a post where someone was excited about how many books they had read so far this year, and people were dunking all over them because it was a low number by their standards.

Just, ew. Don't be like this. Who cares if you've read 150 books or 1. Read what you want when you want. Just read! 📚💙
