I cannot think of an area of law with a wider gap between what its strongest proponents want to imagine it is capable of doing and how it actually works in the current political and legal environment than antitrust.

Well, *fuck*. California AG Rob Bonta just surrendered to the Trump-aligned billionaires who want to take over and destroy Warners, merging it with the chudded-out husk of Paramount, leaving these two corrupt assholes to control Warners, Paramount *and* Tiktok:

the "upside" of the Paramount deal (assuming you ignore thousands of looming layoffs) is there's absolutely zero indication that this weird collection of nepobabies and brunchlords has any idea what they're doing, and I strongly suspect market evolution is going to run the whole mess into the ground
