Jeffco knew about racist graffiti at Addenbrooke's high school before renewing its charter for five years. The board didn't discuss it.

In Praise of Our NHS
I'd like to shout out and praise our much maligned NHS. You might have read my post from October 17th when I was concerned regarding changes in my mouth. I decided to bypass the usual long wait to see my GP, and contacted my oncologist at Addenbrooke's Hospital directly. I was due to have blood tests and then a follow up telephone appointment in December, but the oncologist told me to have a blood test straight away and then come in for a face-to-face clinic appointment on Wednesday 21st October instead.

An Update, and a New Short Story
Following on from my post on 17th October, today I've spent what seems like all day at Addenbrooke's Hospital. The consultant I've seen for the last 21 years doesn't think the persistent ulcers in my mouth are anything to worry about, but she's arranged blood tests and an ultrasound scan in December just to be sure. No lumps in my neck, so I guess I'll have to wait for the test results around mid-December.
