Earlier this year, 2026, a book with great reviews and about a vital topic, was published, with the title, If You Have Five Minutes To Spare, Then I'll Tell You The Story Of My Life - Dominic Hurley BEM's account of his own traumatic brain injury.

Sort of Bem's version of "New Nightmare".

Bem's Regent is this sort of playful, devilish character who has powers involving darkness and insects. He can literally see through the eyes of the insects under his command, and I know some moths have eye-like markings. The triplicate pattern of Regent's eyes across the wing felt really striking.

No disagreement on Bem’s judgment here. #TOSSatNight

Scotty dropped the ball on confirming Bem’s transporter settings. #TOSSatNight

Now that’s cheating on Bem’s part. #TOSSatNight

They never really explain why BEM's head can just float around unsupported. Gravity just doesn't work on that head. #TOSSatNight #TASSatNight

Am I just dumb or is there really no logic at all in Bem’s activities in this episode? What was he trying to prove? How would success of his mission have looked any different from failure?

It’s science

It was from Twitter so tried to maintain distance but it’s this one!

Funeral of Wirral D-Day veteran to take place later month

This later passage also reminds of Bem's classic 'how to write a good article' text in which he describes a lot of ways to increase error rates

I always found 'forced choice' effects in parapsychology unconvincing.

The follow-up from Bem's experiments (feat. adversarial collaboration) and recent meta-analysis by parapsychologists themselves further cemented my opinions.

Now, there is a new paper doi.org/10.1037/cns0...

funny thing is another section of JPSP recently rejected a failed replication of Bem's ESP. some coordination w/in parent journal perhaps??

so JPSP published Bem's junk science in 2011 but won't publish a failed replication. ugh! <a href="http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn20447-journal-rejects-studies-contradicting-precognition.html#.VQxLA0K0eOI" class="hover:underline text-blue-600 dark:text-sky-400 no-card-link" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-link="bsky">http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn20447-journal-rejects-studies-contradicting-precognition.html#.VQxLA0K0eOI <a href="http://t.co/IGhSu2heFj" class="hover:underline text-blue-600 dark:text-sky-400 no-card-link" target="_blank" rel="noopener" data-link="bsky">http://t.co/IGhSu2heFj

Bem's Feeling the Future paper.

Bem's dialogue is written in "Japanese character in American war movie"-ese.

NOT his song!!!

It was the great Jorge Bem’s. Another version many may know is Tamba Trio’s (see panel #2)….\1

que ainda bem’s são esses 🤣

Why is Daryl Bem's name at the top and then crossed out? This paper -was- written by Bem.

For real though, put the latest Rigour Enhancing paper and ensuing fracas alongside Bem’s “polish that jewel” paper and Baumeister’s “experiments are just fun demonstrations really” stuff and tell me how the underlying approach to evidence is different.

It’s all stage magic, for show.

One of my central memories from grad school was a conference speaker pointing out that if Bem's precognition results were true with the effect size he claimed, it would be enough to switch the odds in blackjack from the house to the player
