Bill C-22 is a Canadian government bill around "lawful access" to data, which is a bit of a privacy disaster that has @signal.org saying they would pull out of Canada if implemented as is.

#BillC22 will force every digital service provider - including telcos, services, the cloud, even hardware - to build backdoors to their products for law enforcement.

It also forces them to retain 1 year of our metadata - where we go, who we talk to, when.
