CarbonCure's system injects captured CO2 into the concrete during the mixing stage.
This permanently combines the CO2 with the concrete, increasing the concrete's efficiency.
Hundreds of plants in two dozen countries now use their tech.

We're grateful that the #XPRIZE competition is highlighting #CarbonCure's proven solution to permanently remove CO₂ from the atmosphere & embed it in concrete, transforming concrete plants into factories for #CarbonRemoval while unlocking embodied CO2 reductions in each truckload of concrete.
What if we could take CO2 directly out of the air to stabilize our climate? 🌎 #XPRIZECarbonRemoval finalists Airhive, Heirloom, Octavia, Cella, Project Hajar (44.01 + Aircapture), and Skyrenu are developing solutions that can do exactly that. Learn more here: youtu.be/nwj-uR-DEJI

If we believe in an “all of the above” #Climate strategy, let’s act like it:

Remove CO₂ *and* cut emissions wherever technologies are ready for deployment.

We won’t hit climate goals by sidelining half the solutions.

This Carbon Herald op-ed from #CarbonCure's Jamie Rogers makes the case for thinking beyond reductions vs. removals: bit.ly/4kxnoRS

Biochar in concrete is promising. It can store carbon for centuries and may improve compressive strength. Pairing it with CarbonCure's mineralized CO2 could stack two durable removal methods in one material. Worth watching closely.

Carbon capture,or better yet emission reduction,as a part of the industrial process,is possible.
An example of the former replacement of coal burning in NZ Steel's Glenbrook mill with electricity.
An example of the latter is cement production, injecting the captured carbon into prefab concrete
