Why does it feel like Cotton's remarks won't age well.

A quick search of Cotton’s accounts show that the first time he posted a single word critical of USAID was 5 days ago, despite serving in the Senate for 10 years and the House before that.

pretty willing to believe that Tom Cotton’s interns have “no go zones” in DC, such as keeping at least 1000 feet away from schools and playgrounds
Tom Cotton claims he has to tell his interns in DC that they need to travel around the city "with other people" because of crime

I remember someone saying "Tom Cotton's name is as close to Jim Crow as reality would allow"
If you only listen to my podcast and never watch it, you might miss the funny memes I make.

For example, this week Jamelle made the joke that "Tom Cotton" sounds like the name of the final boss of slavery and so I made this meme for this episode.

Cotton's back on campaign trail.

I really don’t understand why Tom Cotton’s words yesterday were not just plainly illegal incitement to violence.

In Cotton’s defense- It’s hard to keep all the republicans that start needless wars straight.

Cotton's weekend plans

Tom Cotton's home state, Arkansas, has Little Rock. Little Rock is the United States' 4th most violent city. It has a *much* higher crime rate than Washington, D.C. This is just the white supremacy talking.

I know this is the old battle but the attempts to normalize this shit is exactly why it was good to yell at everyone involved with Tom Cotton's oped in 2020
September 30, 2025 at 3:42 PM
Ellison's CBS brought on the two editors that got NYT to publish Tom Cotton's 2020 op-ed calling for soldiers to shoot protesters in the streets. Hard to find a clearer editorial throughline than "anyone protesting murder by the state should be killed for it."

This war is Cotton's dream come true. He hopes it lasts the rest of his lifetime.

Cotton's got one more hole to fill. Care to help her out?

It's not hard to draw a direct line between trump authorizing "full force" in Portland with Tom Cotton's 2020 op ed arguing for no quarter against Americans
Trump is ordering the military to use “full force” against an American city, while the Supreme Court declares him the Sun King and Congress hides under a pile of coats.

The checks and balances only work when the institutions aren’t run by utter cowards and the complicit

James Bennet publishing Tom Cotton's disingenuous fash-ed was an eminently fireable offense

direct line from Trump back to Tom Cotton's op-ed in the NY Times
Walz on Trump threatening to use the military against his political foes on the left: "The idea of sending US military personnel against American citizens makes me sick ... it's a call for violence, plain and simple. And it's pretty damn un-American if you ask me."

"Rubenstein, who had edited Cotton’s piece."
What a D list supervillain origin story.

fwiw in both Vermuele's and Cotton's cases they're one and the same
The thing about Musk's $8 blue check policy is I can never tell if the person tweeting is a powerful political figure in DC or just a nazi meme account
they’re going to do it. it’s going to happen. they’ll burn the whole thing down.

One of the GOP’s biggest donors, Jeffrey Yass, owns 15% of TikTok’s parent company. He gave $96 Million to Republicans last year. Let’s sit back and watch Tom Cotton’s thinking on this “evolve.”

This is a great picture. Captures three different personalities, in stark relief: Trump's arrogance, Tom Cotton's fecklessness, and Al Green's determination.
