Very sad to hear of the death of Jon Kenny today. One half of D’Unbelievables, who were a comedy phenomena in Ireland in the 1990s, Jon (along with Pat Shortt) created brilliant, mad worlds, dragging the audience, roaring with laughter, with them. An inspiration. RIP.

Ah lads, Jon Kenny - not exaggerating when I say that myself and my brother quote D'Unbelievables to each other daily, still the best Irish rural comedy, somehow both slapstick and subtly dark. Saw him in The Matchmaker on stage and he was as accomplished an actor as he was at gags. A huge loss.

D'unbelievables was a STAPLE FOOD if you were from Tipp, myself and mum watched the DVDs over and over and laughed as hard the 500th time.
There is something about the delivery Jon Kenny gave that just cracked me and stuck in my brain.

My mind glossed over this for a full week because it has such powerful “the other one from D’Unbelievables has a crack at Beckett” vibes that it was filtered out like in They Live

Absolutely heartbroken to hear about the passing of Jon Kenny.
D'unbelievables, especially Jon Kenny's "Bridie's Christening" is such a huge part of my brain and sense of humour. It is imo the best rural observational comedy Ireland will ever see.
He was a real legend and I hope he rests easy.

RIP fab irish actor and comedian Jon Kenny. Song Of The Sea, D'Unbelievables, Banshees Of Inisherin and, of course, Father Ted. And much more. That's some heap of work to leave to the human race. Rest well, Jon.

RIP to the great Jon Kenny. I’ll bet that every house in Ireland that grew up in the D’Unbelievables era still to this day quotes something from it. I use “Blatant abandonmentness of cars” to describe bad parking all the time.

You know the way you'd be with two crates of Guinness and a half a bottle of whiskey inside you.

Very sad news. Jon Kenny was hilarious. D'Unbelievables were ridiculously quotable.
RIP Jon Kenny. Irish folk know him as part of D'Unbelievables. UK folk as Fred Rickwood, host of 'A Song For Europe' in Father Ted, a part originally slated for Steve Coogan.
