#Ethical&SEA
I say this as I'm in the midst of writing an essay about the importance of taking slop seriously, this is obviously an essential feature of contemporary aesthetic lives. But of course we live in a sea of content and judging it well requires integrating ethical and aesthetic concerns.

Not if I want to keep my job, buddy. Go ahead and keep trying to make ethical choices under capitalism, but you’re never going to be pure enough to not be complicit. I assume you’re typing this on a phone you assembled yourself in the middle of the sea so you’re not on stolen land.

“We want to see legal, sustainable, and ethical seafood on our plates and in our markets.”

Yesterday, EJF CEO and Founder Steve Trent spoke on a panel at OPAGAC’s Hands for the Ocean in @europarl.europa.eu.

He called for transparency to end #IUU fishing and human rights abuses at sea.

Therefore, even if it was perfectly ethical, even if it had no environmental cost, hell even if every single use of it planted a tree and saved an endangered sea turtle while feeding an orphan, it would not be a good tool to rely on to do editing work.

"I am a simple woman. I looked upon the characters Megan Bontrager introduced in the first few chapters of The Sea Hides Its Dead, and I felt that I would care to see these characters sliced in half or axed in the face or ripped apart by a monster with too many limbs."

Why is whole foods selling dead sea salt, a product of Israel - stolen from Palestine? This is not ethical. Please tell Whole Foods to discontinue profiting off genocide of Palestinians

Aside from all the ethical/environmental problems of AI which others can articulate much better than me, I bring up about GENAI

"Do you want to have your own voice or do you want to be one of thousands nobody can tell apart? You have to build your own raft to not drown in the sea of mediocrity."

Queen at Sea - Binoche and Courtenay are terrific in this quietly powerful drama tackling some of the largely unspoken ethical and legal issues around sex and dementia. It’s largely sensitively handled but does have a few clunky moments. 8/10. #filmsky

average clanker conversation:
me: "is torture & murder ethical?"
gemishit: "no, unethical"
me: "what if the torturer gets money for it?"
gms: "no, unethical"
me: "what if CORPORATIONS get the money?"
gms: "well maybe, leading experts are divided on this controversial issue..."

Well, I hope you found a more ethical source for sea monkeys or just stopped with the sea monkeys.

Burnham still sitting on the fence going "more oil and gas" in the north sea... but it is a total ethical non brainer. Only brazen corruption or stupidity would explain permitting more oil and gas extraction.
Good night Bluesky.

Together is the only way we build liveable todays and tomorrows.

And every day matters.
😐"no good outcome"😐

1.5C heating limit is dead absent carbon capture & storage & immediate decarbonisation (nope).

We are locked in for at least 1.8C of anthropogenic global heating.

At least.
Which is Very Bad.

Trump et al Regime are an existential threat.

Every day matters.

Seriously pre-orders really put books on the map. They are so important!

We want to elevate and empower voices like Dr. Gebru’s, especially in a sea of unethical technological mediocrity and fascism! We elevate a voice that is for justice, a better equitable and ethical future! So preorder now! :)
