I love making little tributes in my stories. Sometimes instead of characters or movies or whatever, I pay homage to famous compositions, like this page of #MoonEaters which evoques to the #FrankMiller's death of Elektra

Wonder if #BillSienkiewicz used Lee Marvin in Cat Ballou as reference for his amazing DK3 cover, recreating #FrankMiller's classic horseback sequence.

Issue #1: No Rest for the Quiet Ones

In the shadows of Jim City, silence is a weapon.
A self-portrait homage to the hard light, high contrast, and inky minimalism of #FrankMiller’s Sin City—but with a personal twist.

Probably #FrankMiller's last great work to date was "300" in 1998, a five issue mini-series about the Battle of Thermopile, a story Miller referenced originally in #SinCityTheBigFatKill".

#FrankMiller's "300" would be adapted into a highly successful movie by director #ZackSnyder, that for better or worse launched Snyder's career as a comic book movie director....https://youtu.be/B6UT5Uur2v8?si=yx8hqJZFngnRZbDa

#FrankMiller's first published work was in "The Royal Feast" story for #TwilightZone #84 (June 1978), published by #GoldKeyComics. While Miller would later be self-critical of his art then, it would be the beginning of a legendary career.

The success of #FrankMiller's #TheDarkKnightReturns and other comic works got the interest of Hollywood, leading him to be hired to write the sequels to #Robocop. However, Miller would later hate working in movies, at least at the time, claiming they ruined his scripts.

Released in 1998, #FrankMiller's "300" is a mostly fictionalized account of the #BattleofThermopylae, though still a great entry in the war comics genre, along with being arguably Miller's last great work.
