Why did we never get around to properly enacting HMHB’s Operation Less Pricks?

Are you familiar with HMHB's song, Tour Jacket With Detachable Sleeves? Some good fun asides about prog there as well as being generally great.

Pleasantly surprised to read that HMHB's Alehouse Futsal has been selected to be played during the hydration breaks in tonight's game. Great decision from all those involved.
👏👏

If you ignore the odd spelling mistake/typo (eg, 'Martin Shepherdson'), this is surely the greatest festival lineup of all-time. Interesting to note HMHB's low billing back then - I sincerely hope a Running Order Squabble Fest ensued.

"In this lecture I will demonstrate that The Strokes were a phenomenon of hauntology ..."

(at this point, I am about to say "Yeah, right..." in the style of the music journo conducting the interview in #hmhb's peerless song 'Used To Be in Evil Gazebo'.)

Bearing in mind though.. HMHB's Blackwell is an extremely savvy writer.

When I saw a list of #RSD26 releases, it was striking how many artists were referenced in #HMHB tracks. As this is the 1st RSD since the release of HMHB's excellent song about the day, I made this into a quiz on the Lyrics Project. Comment 449 in this thread

I keep encountering them. Though I think HMHB's 80s stuff might be their weakest. They're really on a roll from about 1997-2005.

This is very much a Me Problem, but it also leads to pre-purchasing an album, forgetting I've done it, and so I've purchased it again on release day (which iTunes would happily let me do). Which is why my iTunes has two copies of HMHB's 90 Bisodol.

I always thought Kevin might be the one of the gang who had a Scalextric in HMHB's Dukla Prague Away Kit, a few years down the line.

Don’t suppose any Rovs peeps on here have any cool way in with HMHB’s big Nige?
Trying to pull of a (last min) small but cool thing for someone that may not even come off and I’m stuck at the first hurdle 😂✌🏽

HMHB’s ‘Vatican Broadside’ as an earworm after hearing the 6Music news bulletin about the Pope & The King 🤔😂

On a more musical but still Spain-flavoured note, the (physical) post concert fight between reunited Andalucian 90s duo Andy and Lucas (the latter who had a most bizarre botched nosejob recently) seems to be mimicking HMHB's (fictional) Climie Fisher spat (but with less gravel).

HMHB's answer to The Modern Antiquarian
It’s Friday & I’m pleased to announce that for the Half Man Half Biscuit fan who thinks they have everything,a new HMHB map of the UK has arrived with over 200 locations mentioned in their inimitable lyrics. Something for the weekend? Oh, yes, I think so. xx

And there's another (indirect) Ted reference in HMHB's 'Uffington Wassail': "Lazy greedy farmers, pick your OWN strawberries!"

Credited with inventing pick your own on his farm as well

I'd forgotten about him until hearing HMHB's 'D'ye ken Ted Moult?' for the first time a couple of years ago
Just mentioned Ted Moult to someone who is pretty clued up on old TV etc and they had no idea who I was talking about. He was famous for decades right through to his untimely death in 1986 and yet seems to have culturally disappeared.

I realise of course I stole the idea of a publicly benevolent serial killer from hmhb's In A Suffolk Ditch, where he targets people generally we could do without (e.g. Nicholas Witchell). He considers his deeds just and akin to doing a beach tidy-up or Neighbourhood Watch.

The penultimate MISSING ARTIST is also the last of the 45-pointers.

THE KILLERS

It's 'Jenny Was A Friend Of Mine'.

Along with HMHB's 'National Shite Day', a constant C21 presence in the top 100 until Bonus Bonanza week.
