Liked that book, bit odd but enjoyable. Good reads next: Robert Jackson Bennett for City of Stairs, and The Tainted Cup. The Spear Cuts through Water by Simon Jimenez. Hemlock and Silver by T Kingfisher. Three Parts Dead by M Gladstone.

I think I DO have issues with T. Kingfisher's romance when it plays big role in the story, but when it's more in the background like in here or in Hemlock & Silver, I do like it. (Mostly cuz I like her characters, most of the times, make exceptions to books I shall not name)

The ending went very conveniently, to be honest. I have a hard time believing it just worked out like that. I had a similar feeling at the end of hemlock and silver.

Thank you! I have had other recommendations for her work; I bought her "Hemlock and Silver" novel. I'm not gonna take it too seriously; just have a nice little read.
Thank you much~♥

I think at this point I'll have to expect someone to be dead in either the first sentence or the first chapter of T. Kingfisher's books. Not always, but very likely to happen. I love predictability LOL

Como dice ella: "it's like Snow White, except forge Snow, the important thing is the mirror and the poisoned apple". Tiene una prota estupenda, un gato, un guardia de pocas palabras, bichos muy pertubadores y una historia chula. Recomiendo.

Taking a lil 4 hours ads break cuz I still can't decide if I listen to Hemlock & Silver first or Clocktaur War duology first...

T. Kingfisher, HEMLOCK AND SILVER, finished 9/27. A scholar of poisons tries to save a princess and falls through the looking glass. Reread from just a year ago, but Kingfisher is always worth reading.

I appreciate that Kingfisher’s horror books have some silliness or sweetness, just like her non-horror books still hold some horror within. I can point to Swordheart, Hemlock and Silver, and Bryony and Roses for non-horror that still have some chilling parts.

Reading @tkingfisher.com's "Hemlock & Silver" in the coffee shop and laughing out loud.
"This cat … was short-haired and skinny, and it was missing an eye. Also, it had an expression like it was thinking about disemboweling everyone in the room."

You are amazing, kind, and generous. Please don’t let loud voices distract from the millions of folks who adore your books. I just created a new fan by buying my friend Hemlock & Silver. Daggerbound helped me get through a truly messy week. You do a ton of good. Please ignore the naysayers.

Here’s my Lizardfolk Luckbringer, Riya! She’s a Cleric and Bard that travels around the realm and beyond bringing good music, food, drink, and vibes! Although her definition could lean a bit into the rowdy violent side, but hey! She can patch you up, good as new! 🍀✨

Went for a browse in the big box bookstore and did anyone tell me the page edges for the Hemlock & Silver trade are acid green? I almost bought it
I mean, obvs I'm going to buy it, but from the local bookstore later. And I put some holds at the library for some other books I found

Reading Hemlock & Silver which is my first T. Kingfisher book and absolutely loving it.
just finished rereads of the Clocktaur War & Swordheart as preliminary to reading Daggerbound (DO NOT! SAY A WORD TO ME ABOUT THAT BOOK YET) & I'm reading Inventing the Renaissance which is AMAZING, so good, also did not keep me from having to spell out renn- renaissance 2x, WHAT ARE YOU READING???
I am not first and will be far from the last to say this:
I have purchased so many books because I saw them recommended or publicized here on bsky. I cannot urge you all enough to KEEP TALKING ABOUT BOOKS.
I know it's easier to talk up someone else's book, but this also means you, the shy author.

hemlock & silver is one of my favorite t kingfisher books! i really recommend a sorceress comes to call which features another older heroine who is a goose whisperer. it’s loose retelling of goose girl from the grimm’s fairytale
