Losing, his mother (Venat), his father (Emet), his bestie/unofficial lover, Altheria, mentors, Elidibus and Hythlodaeus...

Well, for Zagreus, and subsequently, Ahmed, love was a bad thing, because it only leads to pain.

Then, by meeting Ryne, he fell in love again, and it was not only a slow burn, but also a painful slow burn (enemies to lovers, memories of Elpis, hm?).

Although, today, he's happy with his gf, it didn't start great at all. Having to convince Thancred he wasn't just another Unsundered wasn't the most easy thing.

Well, Ahmed in the main timeline, he is with Ryne, but in the first drafts of #LostAscian'sTale, he was with Gaia (formerly Loghrif), it was a rivals-to-lovers relationship.

With Ryne (formerly Altheria), it's more a ennemies-to-lovers-to-ennemies-to-lovers. Ascians tend to betray, even if forced.

For Ahmed, might be stupid, but if he doesn't have his Ancient mask at all, not even on his robe, it means he's at ease and trusting with you.

Only Altheria, Loghrif, Hythlodaeus and Elidibus saw that, aside his parents, Emet-Selch and Venat.
