📽️ John Farrow (1953)

À ranger dans les westerns banales, pas désagréable mais manquant de fond scénaristique.

The age is an important detail here because this, the aura of an experienced connoisseur you can only get from being a fan of something for decades, in this case, non-murder non-detective non-LouisL'Amour, 100% pulp novel of the smut variety.

Up to a point a person’s life is shaped byenvironment, heredity&changes in theworld aboutthem. Then therecomes atime when it lies withintheirgrasp toshape theclay of their life into thesortofthing they wishit tobe. Everyone has thepower to say, This I am today. That I shall be tomorrow.~LouisL'Amour

Many years ago, during one long summer, I read about 75 books by Louis L’Amour. Among them, “The Ferguson Rifle” was one of my favorites, partly because the hero, Ronan Chantry is an educated reader of books, and a thinker. It’s also a gripping story.

Just finding this out, but apparently Josh Holloway is going to star and produce in an adaptation of Louis L'Amour's Flint.

And it's already filmed and should be coming out this year!

I haven't read Flint yet (L'Amour's got A LOT of books) but Ill move it up on my list.

March 22 is the birthday of noted #American western author #LouisL’Amour who we #quote and back with a picture of a gorilla at #SanDiegoZooSafariPark. If this #quotograph speaks to you, please repost it.

On the 1st Sat of each month, the local #library system hosts a #booksale of donated & weeded titles. There was virtually no #sci-fi or #fantasy this time, so I stepped out of my comfort zone & picked up a #western & some #SherlockHolmes.

Wife & I went to #McKays yesterday. Traded in & got some goodies! I love the #ArdenShakespeare series! Never read #Koontz before but I loved the #Watchers movie. I know the #book will be different.
Getting a better #LouisL'Amour cover & picked up a few others.

📽️ Georges Cukor (1960)
