Had the chance to watch Pangdemonium’s final theatrical production - Come From Away.

A beautiful performance and made me cry during the second half.

A very strong send off!

Caught Pangdemonium's Force Majeure last month, it's their last season and they have The Mirror coming soon. Most excited for Come From Away at the end of the year. This performance was an intense one with lots going on, multiple roles. Good practice for Come From Away! #sgtheatre

Caught Pangdemonium’s production of Kimberly Akimbo! Knowing only what it was about but never having saw it before, I really enjoyed myself. Fantastic experience and slowly getting to know more about the local arts scene.

Time for #Pangdemonium's annual musical with their production of Dear Evan Hansen! Greatly enjoyed the emotion-filled acting, with a special mention of Rebekah Sangeetha Dorai's powerful vocals. Complex set with lots of moving parts. Runs till 10 November. #sgtheatre

A 7m Pompompurin is about to loom over VivoCity's rooftop garden, and the best perk this September doesn't even need a receipt to redeem!
Things to Do in Singapore This September 2026
September 2026 in Singapore brings Pangdemonium’s last bow after 16 years, a 7m Pompompurin perched on a giant mooncake, and free martial arts trials for kids. These seven **things to do in Singapore** this month are for anyone deciding what to book now and what can wait, plus parents planning Mid-Autumn around the family. What| When| Where| Cost ---|---|---|--- Pompompurin, Mooncakes, and Free Martial Arts| Until 27 Sep| Sky Park, VivoCity, HarbourFront MRT| S$10 per carnival game or train ride, S$8 per photo booth session Two Prime Video Nights In| 16 Sep to 23 Sep| see item| see item Suntec City’s Health Fair| 14 to 20 Sep, 10am to 10pm| Suntec City Atrium (Convention Centre), Promenade or Esplanade MRT| One circuit token per S$50 spent, Power Strike Card free BYD PURE Games on Orchard Road| 26 to 27 Sep| Civic Plaza, Ngee Ann City, Orchard or Somerset MRT| Standard race entry (early bird from S$90 ended 31 Aug) Art Remembers at National Gallery Singapore| Until 18 Oct| National Gallery Singapore, City Hall MRT| Free for Singaporeans and PRs Pangdemonium’s Farewell Musical| 11 to 27 Sep| Victoria Theatre, City Hall MRT| S$45 to S$105 off-peak, S$50 to S$125 Fri and Sat evenings, plus booking fee KARD Closes Out the Month| 27 Sep, 6pm| Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands, Bayfront MRT| S$98 to S$248 per seat, excluding booking fees ## 1. Pompompurin, Mooncakes, and Free Martial Arts The **Mid-Autumn Festival** is the lantern-and-mooncake holiday that falls on **Friday, 25 September 2026** , and this year it gets a Sanrio makeover at **VivoCity**. Until **27 September** , the mall’s rooftop Sky Park is the **Sanrio Moonlit Garden**. That means six themed spaces of glowing lights and giant installations of Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll, Kuromi, My Melody, Hangyodon, and Pompompurin. The star is a **7m Pompompurin** sitting on an oversized mooncake, and it’ll be in every family group chat by the end of the month. Set a budget before you go, though. The **Kuromi Carnival Kingdom** charges **S$10** for each of its six Sanrio carnival games, S$10 per Mini Express Train ride, and S$8 per photo booth session. A family of four playing one game each has spent S$40 before anyone gets on the train, so let the pudding-loving golden retriever be the main event. Sharp minds should try the **Lantern Riddle Challenge**. Crack the riddles between 5pm and 9pm and you could be among the first 50 each hour to claim a Sanrio sticker set, while stocks last. Character meet-and-greets on selected weekends need an **S$80** spend on a single receipt, and each session takes only 30 redemptions. Anyone already planning a big shop should time it for one of those weekends. Merch fans will find the Sanrio Retail Pop-Up at Level 1, East Court, and VivoCity connects straight to **HarbourFront MRT** (Mass Rapid Transit). Go before Mid-Autumn if you can. The festival lands on a Friday and the garden shuts that Sunday, so its closing weekend will be the busiest of the lot. Mooncake hunters get a proper spread at **Great World** , where the Moonlit Treasures fair fills the Level 1 Atrium until **25 September**. Its hotel stalls include Shangri-La Singapore, The Fullerton, Sheraton Towers, and Conrad. Spend **S$30** there to unlock old-school treats such as dragon’s beard candy and _ding ding tang_ , the maltose candy chipped off a slab with a hammer. The same receipt gets you an Activity Pass for ink painting, lantern crafting, and tea appreciation workshops, and September weekends bring _wushu_ , traditional Chinese music, and magic shows at 1pm and 4pm. Great World’s Mid-Autumn artwork lines up hotel mooncakes from Shangri-La Singapore, The Fullerton, Sheraton Towers, and Conrad at its Level 1 Atrium until 25 September Families in the east can spend Mid-Autumn night itself at **Pasir Ris Mall**. On 20 and 25 September, its Level 2 Event Space tells the story of Chang’e, the goddess who floated to the moon, from 8pm to 8.30pm. A lantern parade and a Jade Rabbit hunt with prizes follow until 9pm. Over at **NEX** , above Serangoon MRT, the TANGS Mid-Autumn Fair runs an Eight Bites Trail until 25 September, and the first 200 people to taste their way around eight mooncake booths take home a free Sanrio lantern. Children with more energy than patience for lanterns can burn it off at **Evolve MMA** (mixed martial arts). Its Kids Martial Arts Programme teaches ages **4 to 13** two styles. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is grappling that sharpens coordination and problem-solving, while Muay Thai, the Thai striking art, builds footwork and fitness. Classes are split into Little Samurais (4 to 6), Kids (7 to 9), and Pre-Teens (10 to 13), so the littlest ones train with children their own size. A young martial artist in a red-and-black uniform smiles and waves, the kind of confidence Evolve MMA’s classes for ages 4 to 13 aim to build The big draw is a **free 30-minute trial class** with one of the gym’s world champion instructors, and equipment is provided. Sessions run seven days a week at 10am, 12pm, and 3pm at Orchard Central, The Star Vista, and Raffles Place. Most of the mall perks above ask for a receipt, and this one doesn’t, which makes it the easiest yes of the lot for parents. 📅 **Until 27 Sep** · 📍 **Sky Park, VivoCity, HarbourFront MRT** · 💰 **S$10 per carnival game or train ride, S$8 per photo booth session** · 🎟 **Meet-and-greets need an S$80 single-receipt spend** ## 2. Two Prime Video Nights In Some September evenings are for staying in, and **Prime Video** has two releases worth keeping a night free for. _Neagley_ premieres on **Wednesday, 16 September 2026** , with Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, Jack Reacher’s former protégé from the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit. She’s now a private investigator in Chicago, digging into a friend’s suspicious death. Anyone who has binged _Reacher_ already knows she can carry a show of her own. Lili Reinhart and Tom Bateman play Olive and Adam Carlsen, mid crunch A week later, on **Wednesday, 23 September 2026** , _The Love Hypothesis_ arrives. It adapts Ali Hazelwood’s bestselling novel, a long-time favourite on BookTok, TikTok’s book-loving corner. Lili Reinhart plays Olive, a doctoral candidate who kisses professor Adam Carlsen (Tom Bateman) to prove to her best friend that she’s moved on. Their fake relationship comes with rules, and readers of the book know how long those last. Two students share a desk in a busy lecture hall, a campus scene from Prime Video’s September line-up of romances Want something tenser first? Gal Gadot’s _The Runner_ has been streaming since 2 September, with Gadot as a London lawyer forced to keep running through the city to save her kidnapped son. The two big releases land a week apart and both on a Wednesday. That’s two midweek nights already planned, with no queues and no booking fees. 📅 **16 Sep (_Neagley_) and 23 Sep (_The Love Hypothesis_)** · 📍 **Streaming on Prime Video** ## 3. Suntec City’s Health Fair Mid-month calls for something lighter on the heart and heavier on the shopping bags. From **14 to 20 September 2026** , **Suntec City Atrium** hosts **Watsons Get Active** , a week-long fitness fair now in its third edition. More than 40 health and beauty brands take **up to 70%** off, and each day brings a pool of as much as **S$1,000** in Watsons cash vouchers. Watsons’ GET2ACTIVE visual sets out a week of fitness activities, health and beauty buys, and daily prizes at Suntec City Atrium from 14 to 20 September 2026 The fair leans into its gym theme with the **Get Active Circuit** , and every S$50 spent earns a token for one go at all three stations. Power Toss wants four goals in 15 seconds. Power Sled has women pushing 60kg and men 110kg across 10 metres, and Power Grip is a hang of 80 seconds for women or 120 for men. Clear all three and you could win back your purchase in vouchers, though each day’s pool shrinks with every winner. At last, anyone dragged along on a shopping trip has something to do with their hands. It runs Monday to Sunday, so office workers nearby can fit it into a lunch hour and weekend shoppers still get their turn. **Promenade** and **Esplanade** MRT stations are the closest. Head down early in the week if there’s a particular brand on your list, since the deepest markdowns are what the crowds come for. 📅 **14 to 20 Sep, 10am to 10pm** · 📍 **Suntec City Atrium (Convention Centre), Promenade or Esplanade MRT** · 💰 **One circuit token per S$50 spent, Power Strike Card free** ## 4. BYD PURE Games on Orchard Road The last weekend of September turns **Ngee Ann City’s Civic Plaza** into a gym floor with an audience. **PURE Singapore** , the company behind PURE Fitness and PURE Yoga, holds the **BYD PURE Games 2026** there on **26 and 27 September 2026** , with carmaker BYD as title sponsor. The main event is a functional fitness race across **eight workout stations**. Racers chase the best scores on everything from treadmills to SkiErgs, the machines that copy the arm action of cross-country skiing. Saturday is for the **Team** category and Sunday belongs to **Elite** , and entrants can race solo, in pairs, or as a four-person relay. Early bird entry started from **S$90** but closed on 31 August, so anyone signing up now pays the standard rate on the online registration page. Every competitor gets a Challenger Kit with a week’s access to PURE, vouchers, and partner merchandise, and the top three in each category win prizes such as PURE memberships. Not racing? Cheer from the sidelines, where Mediacorp artistes Nick Teo, Richie Koh, Jernelle Oh, and Kele, all familiar faces from Singapore’s national broadcaster, are taking on the course. Then head for the **PURE Explorer Zone**. The pick there is **Re:set by PURE** , a guided recovery routine of contrast therapy, sauna, and compression massage boots run by PURE coaches from Hong Kong. Until now it has been available only at PURE’s Hong Kong clubs, so this weekend is Singapore’s first go at it. Dyson is offering **complimentary hair styling** , a smart call for anyone with post-workout dinner plans on Orchard Road. PURE’s booth runs free body composition checks. BYD is bringing its ATTO 3 EVO, SEALION 7 Extended Range, and ATTO 1 for a closer look, and there’s a lucky draw for a **BYD ATTO 3** electric car. Upstairs at PURE Fitness and PURE Yoga Ngee Ann City, classes made for the festival range from cycling to mobility work, and class-goers get free Bloom or C4 energy drinks. Four people hold an extended side-angle pose on black mats in a wood-panelled studio, a taste of the yoga PURE brings to its Ngee Ann City classes Sign up for the race if you’ve been training without a goal. Everyone else should come for Re:set and leave the SkiErg to the Elite crowd. 📅 **26 to 27 Sep** · 📍 **Civic Plaza, Ngee Ann City, Orchard or Somerset MRT** · 💰 **Standard race entry (early bird from S$90 ended 31 Aug)** · 🎟 **Race registration online** ## 5. Art Remembers at National Gallery Singapore Everyone’s phone is a personal archive by now, stuffed with screenshots and concert clips nobody ever scrolls back to. **Art Remembers** , the contemporary art exhibition at National Gallery Singapore, is built around that urge to keep a record. Its **20 works** come from artists across Singapore and Southeast Asia who rework old photographs, footage, and official records to retell the region’s past. Some are new commissions, and the rest come from Singapore’s National Collection. A man holding a red-and-white striped umbrella gestures towards a riverside crowd carrying baskets, the kind of scene Art Remembers asks visitors to read afresh The work made for the group chat is _Powdered iPhone_ by Filipino American artist **Josh Kline**. He made it during a residency at the Singapore Tyler Print Institute, turning iPhone SE handsets and dyed cotton pulp into paper, and Art Remembers is the first place it has been shown. The device that holds your whole camera roll, reduced to something you could scribble on, is a sharp and slightly unnerving reminder of how flimsy digital memory is. Two more pieces deserve a detour. Malaysian artist **Ahmad Fuad Osman** slips a present-day figure in modern clothes and comical poses into archival photographs from Malaysia’s post-independence years, and the joke doubles as a point about how national histories keep getting retold. Singaporean artist **Robert Zhao Renhui** follows a fish instead. His _The Fish Does Not Know the War Is Over_ tracks the tilapia from wartime Singapore to commercial success in Taiwan, the kind of oddly specific story a textbook would skip. The show fills the Singtel Special Exhibition Gallery 1 and the City Hall Chamber until **18 October 2026**. Entry needs a General Admission ticket, which is **free for Singaporeans and Permanent Residents (PRs)**. The Gallery is open from **10am to 7pm** daily, and ticket sales stop at 6.30pm. Because it’s the one pick here that outlasts September, it’s the easiest to keep putting off. Victoria Theatre, where Pangdemonium’s farewell is playing, is a short walk away, so do both on the same day and there’s no excuse left. If your camera roll has creator potential, the Gallery is paying someone S$3,000 a month to take over its TikTok, no followers needed. 📅 **Until 18 Oct** · 📍 **National Gallery Singapore, City Hall MRT** · 💰 **Free for Singaporeans and PRs** · 🎟 **General Admission ticket online or at the Gallery’s kiosks** ## 6. Pangdemonium’s Farewell Musical Married couple **Adrian Pang** and **Tracie Pang** founded **Pangdemonium** in 2010. Adrian came to it after an acting career that ran from the UK to Singapore television. Tracie had made her name as a director, and the pair have led the company together ever since. Over 16 years their shows earned a reputation for hitting audiences hard, and the farewell season kept that going: _A Mirror_ picked up five stars from arts blog Bakchormeeboy. On 2 February 2026, the Pangs said Pangdemonium would take its final bow at the end of this season. They were clear that cost pressures weren’t behind the decision. In their words, they wanted to go “on our own terms, on a grace note, and while we are still in love”. The season opened in March with _Force Majeure_ at **Victoria Theatre** and moved to the Esplanade’s Singtel Waterfront Theatre for _A Mirror_ in June and July. Now it closes where it began. _Come From Away_ is Irene Sankoff and David Hein’s Olivier Award-winning musical about Gander, a small Canadian town. After the 11 September 2001 attacks, 38 diverted planes left nearly 7,000 passengers there, and the town took them in. Pangdemonium’s preview played on **11 September 2026** , 25 years to the day, and the run continues until **27 September**. It’s the first musical for Associate Director **Timothy Koh** , whose _Doubt: A Parable_ and _Singapore, Michigan_ earned Production of the Year and Best Director nominations at The Straits Times Life Theatre Awards. Come From Away key art for Pangdemonium’s final production, directed by Timothy Koh at Victoria Theatre from 11 to 27 September 2026 It’s a fitting last show: an ensemble piece about strangers throwing their doors open, staged by a company about to close its own. The 11-strong cast includes Inch Chua, Sheila Francisco, and Lim Yu-Beng. The Pangs call it a musical that challenges audiences to ask themselves, “would we do that?” It runs 1 hour 40 minutes with no interval and carries an Advisory rating for some mature content. Seats sell through Pangdemonium’s website, which runs on BookMyShow. Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday shows and all matinees cost **S$45 to S$105** , Friday and Saturday evenings cost S$50 to S$125, and every ticket carries a booking fee of S$1 to S$6. Under-25s should look out for **S$25** U25 Youth Fund seats on selected shows. Those tickets have to be collected in person with ID an hour before curtain. SG Culture Pass credits can go towards tickets as well. Captioned performances fall on **16 September at 8pm** and **26 September at 3pm**. Wheelchair spaces can’t be picked off the seat map, so arrange them through BookMyShow’s customer care. For a keepsake, the Pangs’ commemorative book, Ass-Kicking Adventures in Theatre: The Pangdemonium Story, is limited to 500 copies at S$45. You can add it to a ticket order or buy it at Victoria Theatre during the run. Grab a weeknight seat now, because the closing weekend of a 16-year run is the one everybody wants. Ass Kicking Adventures in Theatre charts Pangdemonium’s story before its final bow 📅 **11 to 27 Sep** · 📍 **Victoria Theatre, City Hall MRT** · 💰 **S$45 to S$105 off-peak, S$50 to S$125 Fri and Sat evenings, plus booking fee** · 🎟 **Pangdemonium’s website** ## 7. KARD Closes Out the Month **KARD** is a co-ed K-pop quartet made up of BM, J.seph, SOMIN, and JIWOO, and they have built an international following on high-energy live shows. Their **KARD 2026 World Tour “NOW HERE”** follows the group’s first full-length album, _Where To Now? (Part.2): NOWHERE_. The concert brings that record’s story, about finding the truth after a long stretch of wandering, to the stage. The tour opened at Gabin Art Hall in Seoul on 8 August 2026. Base Entertainment Asia brings it to **Sands Theatre at Marina Bay Sands** on **Sunday, 27 September 2026**. That same Sunday, _Come From Away_ plays its last performance and the Sanrio garden closes, which makes 27 September the most crowded date on this list. K-pop fans should lock in KARD first, and theatre lovers shouldn’t leave Pangdemonium’s closing night to chance. 📅 **27 Sep, 6pm** · 📍 **Sands Theatre, Marina Bay Sands, Bayfront MRT** · 💰 **S$98 to S$248 per seat, excluding booking fees** · 🎟 **Marina Bay Sands Ticketing, SISTIC, or Klook** ## Book the Goodbye First Back in 2022, our September guide could run nine picks in any order you liked. This year the order matters, even though most of this list will come round again in some form. Mid-Autumn returns every year with new mascots, and streaming never stops. This month’s firsts, from Timothy Koh’s musical debut to Re:set’s arrival in Singapore, are the start of something. A goodbye can’t be rescheduled. Pangdemonium won’t stage anything after _Come From Away_ , so if you book one thing from this list, make it a seat at the company’s last show. Parents with a single free evening should give it to the Sanrio garden for the photos alone. Anyone with a competitive streak has a race on Orchard Road with their name on it. Lock in your _Come From Away_ seats on Pangdemonium’s website before the closing weekend sells out, then set a Mid-Autumn reminder so your favourite mooncakes don’t sell out on you either. **_Photos and Visuals courtesy of Evolve MMA, Great World, Prime Video, Watsons Singapore, PURE Singapore, National Gallery Singapore, and Pangdemonium._**

Managed to catch Pangdemonium's (wow, two Pang productions in one weekend) teen performance of "Ride the Cyclone". Pretty fun plot with great music, and was blown away by how powerful these student performers were. Really amazing voices and accents that really sold the plot. #sgtheatre

Caught Pangdemonium's rendition of A Mirror, a gripping play that holds a mirror up to censorship, truth, and the power of storytelling. A longer production at 2.5 hours, but had me engrossed every minute. Catch Pang's second-last production before it closes 12 July! #sgtheatre

Caught #Pangdemonium's take on Kimberly Akimbo before it closed! A bittersweet story about life, love, and making the most of limited time. Enjoyed it lots, especially loved hearing Rebekah Sangeetha Dorai and Frances Lee’s fire vocals! #sgtheatre

Watched Pangdemonium's "Singapore, Michigan"! Fun set, almost thought Elsa would come out and say Let It Go at the start. Loved how the show explored responsibility, individualism vs. collectivism, and the vital role of communication in relationships. Intense dialog! #sgtheatre

Caught Pangdemonium's "A Doll's House, Part 2", really enjoyed the plot and the sharp acting from everyone! The costuming looks amazing too. Really a fun play with some spicy elements to think about! Runs till 23 March. #sgtheatre
