It was such an honour to be invited behind the curtain on a show I’ve loved for fourteen years. Tonight’s episode of Call The Midwife (written by me) features a man in an iron lung and Poplar’s answer to the 1970 Commonwealth Games.

You're right about a Poplar's propensity to cling desperately to whatever they can. That's how it usually works, but I believe that this one was a little taken aback and simply froze when I suddenly tipped it out onto a flower head.

Witnessed an adorable scene today how a spider outside the window was gathering poplar’s fluff stuck to the web, shaped it into balls and threw them away. Even spoods have to clean their houses every now and then!
