Postmedia's Vancouver Sun, once a major daily newspaper, is reduced to a few pages mostly wire service stories, supplemented with an insert from a miniature version of Postmedia's National Post. No Vancouver Sun on Sunday or Monday. Free municipal fish-wrap papers have as much content.

The Toronto Sun, like most Canadian newspapers, is owned by Postmedia. Postmedia's majority owners are Chatham Asset Management, a US-based hedge fund.

Chatham, in turn, is owned by the same MAGA Republicans who own McClatchy.

half their voting shares are held by Canadians, half by foreign investors. But there are 100 million shares in total, and only 300,000 held by Canadians. So to get to a significant ownership share, you actually don't need a lot of money. Under $100k would give you 10% of Postmedia's votes. 2

Columnist calls for accountability over political figure's actions
The article by Tasha Kheirindin, Postmedia's national politics columnist, highlights concerns about a political figure's recent actions. The piece examines the implications of these decisions on public trust and political accountability. Kheirindin emphasizes the need for transparency and ethical governance, citing specific instances where the figure's behavior has raised eyebrows. The article also touches on the broader context of political responsibility in democratic systems, urging stakeholders to prioritize the public interest. While the piece does not explicitly name the individual, it references their role in key policy decisions. The columnist argues that leaders must balance power with accountability, a theme that resonates with ongoing debates about governance. This analysis comes at a time when public scrutiny of political figures is intensifying, driven by social media and increased civic engagement. Kheirindin's work underscores the importance of media in holding power to account, even as challenges to journalistic integrity persist. The article concludes with a call for renewed commitment to democratic values, suggesting that accountability mechanisms must evolve to meet contemporary demands.
