#Rattle's
A little update to Rattle’s look with her own plushy.

The internal screaming going on in Rattle's head rn is at a pitch only internal dogs could hear

(He has a crush on Dolly and she is oblivious)

#NowSpinning Rattle’s orchestral Britten. This is so different to the underpowered War Requiem. Fresh, vibrant and imaginative performances, full of vitality and wit.

tbh cuddlepaw needs a nerf, their rattle's hitbox is basically half the stage

Fun fact: Rattle’s full name is Angela Rattles
She doesn’t use her first name that much and usually just uses her last name.

#NowSpinning Kurt Weill The Seven Deadly Sins, in Rattle’s earlier recording from Birmingham. I can’t believe I have never heard this. Finding it somewhat appealing!

This afternoon I'm listening Szymanowski's extraordinary Król Roger. Simon Rattle's recording is magnificent but Jacek Kaspszyk's is possibly even finer. Either way, what an incredible piece this is.

#NowSpinning Rattle’s Birmingham Mahler 2. As is often the case with recordings lauded by the British press, this one draws both jubilation and ire. I’ve never *not* enjoyed it and look forward to my reaction now.

As the baby rattle's attorney, I request that you find another object. The baby rattle was offended by this comment. We hope not to take you to court for this slanderous comparison.

#NowSpinning Rattle’s CBSO Mahler 6. Not a recording I really warmed to when first hearing it about 20 years ago! But it’s next up on the Rattle CBSO years box. Let’s see how it sits now.

Retinkering with Dolly's braids and how they're parted and DAMN

Rip Rattle's heart

#FavouriteDiscs Some discs I’ve enjoyed over the years. I’d love to hear what yours are. First up is Rattle’s brilliant Adam’s disc. There are many great Harmonielehres out there, but this one still stands up well. There is fabulous sweep and the shorter works are done with serious panache.

#A-Haydn-A-Day Good morning. It’s January 19th and Sir Simon Rattle’s 70th birthday.Today we have the sum of the squares of the first four primes and the Last Tango in Paris. It’s…..87.

ik verwacht niet veel opnamen meer dit jaar buiten nog een Schoenberg disc van PL Aimard en Rattle's Mahler 2 met de BRSO

Agreed. Love Rattle's CBSO Resurrection 👍👍

I much prefer Rattle's earlier recording to the Berlin remake.

#NowSpinning Brahms’s First Piano Quartet in G Minor, in its Schoenberg orchestration. This is Simon Rattle’s 1984 CBSO version; I have never heard this particular performance. I wonder what Brahms would have made of the xylophone!

#NowSpinning The playlist for this afternoon. I don’t know Diamond’s Symphonies at all, so I’m now working through the Schwarz set. And this Bruckner 9 will also be my first listen. The Mahler is next up in Rattle’s CBSO box.

#NowSpinning Rattle’s Berlin version of Sibelius’s First Symphony. This is far more propulsive than his EMI version from the very outset. The heavily cultured, ultra-refinement is certainly impressive. #classicalmusic

Visualize each of your thoughts shrinking down into beads. Words, smarts, maturity - all transforming into tiny little pellets.

Any color, any shape. Whatever seems right.

Head transforming, too. Taking on your rattle's traits. Colors, material, design. Beads of thought inside to make the toy work

Marlis Petersen's multifaceted 337-year-old matches Simon Rattle's incandescent @londonsymphony.bsky.social @barbican.bsky.social in Janáček's fascinating score. theartsdesk.com/opera/makrop...

Editing soundtrack. Thought I'd head into the weekend on a light and cheery note...

(But it's also unearthly and beautiful.)

anyways it should go without saying that these are not their final designs.

I actually am really happy with Rattle's design (the rat fella) but Dolly's design is one I wanna keep tinkering with. I am def gonna keep it simple so I can avoid a Sweetheart situation
I GOT ONE MORE MAGICAL GIRL DESIGN IN ME ☝🏽

TBH The only thing keeping me interested in 'em is basing them off things from my childhood.

When I was a kid, every December, I'd get to see the Nutcracker ballet. This magical girl (and the rat villain beside her) is based off this nostalgia of mine.

#NowSpinning Sibelius Symphony No.5. This is the middle of Rattle’s three recordings and I have not heard it in ages. Rattle is one of those conductors aficionados love to hate, but I’m listening again to make up my own mind. Neither of his Firsts are great, but this starts well.
