#Ridgefield's
Ridgefield is one of Southwest Washington's fastest-growing cities, but a proposed multi-use development could pose a threat to some of its longest-tenured residents: migratory birds.
In a fast-growing Washington city, pressure for growth clashes with love for a wildlife refuge

By gate keeping and blocking four townhomes the builder is instead going to move forward with a denser development which is literally Ridgefield's worst nightmare

Ridgefield’s gone all in on roundabouts and it amazes me how many people don’t get it. It’s pretty simple, yield to enter and once you’re in you have the right of way.

Lived in this area for most of my life. If you like Trump flags flown proudly from trucks and houses in suburban subdivisions, not to mention Ridgefield’s literal confederate memorial (private park off the interstate) then oh boy is This The Place
I don’t doubt that MGP represents Skamania County constituents well but the fact that she spent an hour slagging off the bulk of her constituents is mindboggling

Why do we have a housing crisis in Connecticut?

Exhibit 1: Ridgefield is about to implement a housing moratorium “in order to protect the health, safety and welfare of its citizens” from proposals for….20 apartments and 4 townhomes.

Local control is broken.

I’d just like to point out that this article describes this as “a limited ban on large-scale development applications” before saying it would apply projects w/“five or more dwellings.”

It is official! We have two magnets for the van! We packed 93 bags this morning, and hung the magnet on the fridge in excitement! The Feed My Sheep Ministry is growing every day, and we are proud to serve our community, and help relieve some of the food insecurity faced by Ridgefield's children.

But its neighboring waterfront property is being considered for development

Once Interstate Bridge construction begins, 75% of Portland Police Bureau officers will be cut off from their homes and second jobs.

Portland is too important to have its laws enforced by Ridgefield’s Best Drivers.
Just want to remind everyone that the Mayor cut 200 critical jobs which will result in significant service cuts at a time when Portlanders need govt the most, meanwhile he kept 70 vacancies in the police bureau even though per PPB's own staffing report they will NOT fill most of those positions. 🙃

There’s a discussion here about the rapid population growth in town, but the population in 1980 was 20,000 and now it’s 25,000…not exactly uncontrolled growth, and the currently-proposed projects would add a few hundred more.

Why would anyone stand in line for 14 hours for a hamburger? The obsession some people have with In-n-out is very weird.

I actually hold a grudge against this particular location, as it was an open farm field until a few years ago, which they paved over it to build a fat food joint and a Costco.
People waited as much as 14 hours to eat at Ridgefield's In-N-Out
Washington's first In-N-Out Burger is officially open in Ridgefield, and with it came incredibly long lines and wait times.
