I tell my students it is built on theft, harming their cognitive health, robbing them of an education they're paying for, and environmentally devastating but so far it's only gotten worse.

i suppose this doesn't need emphasizing here but i do think it's worth reflecting that the deportations aren't due to crime, or economic reasons. it's cruelty designed to fool people into thinking they'll somehow become safer & richer while the people in power continue harming and robbing us blind

Designers need to be calling out AI for the scab work it is. Doesn't matter if you are an illustrator or a graphic designer or a photographer or a website builder or a typographer. If you use AI, you are robbing from yourself, harming your peers, and destroying your own industry.
I wish more designers would stand up against AI publicly. Got an email from a typographer who understands it's bad for typography, but went on to say it's fine for illustration. 🤦

The doom spiral this particular poster seems to have caught herself in is a good example of why I keep saying that the people whose newsletter income relies on people being constantly in a state of panic are harming people by robbing them of the ability to imagine a future that's not all doom.
