🚭 SFP’s #SmokeFreeCountdown to #WorldNoTobaccoDay starts on Monday!

In the lead-up to WNTD, we’ll highlight 6 critical issues in EU tobacco control policy.

maybe we could just put approximately one foot of fiber between two SFP’s in every server and then we could count protons and then virtualize that in memory for VM’s and account for time slicing delays in the cpu with another process and then

📢 As SFP's first publication in the lead-up to #WorldNoTobaccoDay, we are highlighting the need for a revised Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) to curb tobacco use and tackle the rising popularity of new products, especially among youth. 🚭

Also, seriously if you're looking for a relatively inexpensive way to go 10GB, I have one of these with a pack of used 10GB SFP's I got on eBay for less than $3 each. It's AliExpress, but it's legit. Saturates my NAS's bandwidth no problem.

Perfecct example of a bad PE team. HPE DL380 G10, where you need to remove the SFP's to remove the riser. Then remove the riser to get to fucking fan cowling so you can finally access the god damned memory and CPU's.

Was digging around in my pile of tech, and realized "man, I should really protect these better, they're like gold on eBay now"

Decided to start printing RAM holders, as the current setup I have now is kinda clunky. (I'm using OEM cheap plastic-carriers)

Also found holders for my SFP's too!

Disgraceful. Thank you for your tireless work bringing about buffer zones Gillian - a common sense measure to stop abortion service users being intimidated and shamed. We hope the SFP's antics do not set a precedent for future behaviour

SFP's All Hands on Deck strategy aims to put seafood sector "in the driver's seat"
The Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP) is a Honolulu, Hawai’i-based NGO working to engage seafood supply chains globally in rebuilding depleted fish stocks, reducing the environmental impacts of fishing and fish farming, and ensuring sustained economic opportunities for fishing communities. Braddock “Brad” Spear is SFP’s prospecting and outreach director and is responsible for key initiatives ranging from the development of management policies for industrial fisheries to forging relationships between NGOs and stakeholders. SeafoodSource spoke with Spear about SFP’s new strategic plan and how it aims to foster collaboration to take on some of the global seafood industry’s most pressing issues. SeafoodSource: SFP recently revised its long-term strategy. Can you tell us how the strategy has evolved? Spear: SFP turns 20 this year. Looking back, we’ve made tremendous progress in scaling fishery improvement projects around the world, building efficiency and greater impacts into supply chains, and providing major buyers with solutions to monitor and support their sustainability goals and commitments. Despite this progress, many fish stocks are still low or dropping, protected species are still being unintentionally caught and killed by fishing gear, and social issues are as prevalent as ever. Governments in seafood-producing and -processing countries are underresourced to address these...

Fitted a 10G NIC in my desktop in anticipation of the switch arriving in the coming week.
About $45 for the NIC and $17 for the SFP. Not bad, considering those darn SFP's used to be several hundred *each*.

I’m surprised that @sfstandard.com still seems to be the only one reporting that Meredith Dodson has stepped down from SFP’s nonprofit (but is still heading the PAC). SFP is one of various groups that blurs the line between their c3 and c4

You miss the point. SFP's reference is to how some folk still believe the myth that the British at Nijmegen 1944 refused to advance any further & made tea instead despite US entreaties.

Carry on wearing your t-shirt; it won't offend anyone.

Sustainable Fisheries Partnership, Wholechain sign traceability, analytics MoU
The Sustainable Fisheries Partnership (SFP) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Wholechain to collaborate on traceability and analytics solutions, integrating SFP’s Seafood Metrics system into Wholechain’s traceability software. Honolulu, Hawaii, U.S.A.-based NGO SFP and Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, U.S.A.-based traceability software firm Wholechain signed the MoU on 15 March at the 2026 Seafood Expo North America, aiming to “provide customers with end-to-end source information on seafood, backed by a trusted decision-support tool.” SFP’s Seafood Metrics tool is a data-driven system that aims to help seafood companies better understand the level of sustainability risk present in their supply chains. By leveraging data from SFP’s FishSource database, as well as the Food and Agriculture Organization’s (FAO) global production data, the tool allows firms to “not only meet regulatory requirements and consumer expectations but also drive continuous improvement in environmental performance and overall business success,” according to SFP. “Our Seafood Metrics tool applies sustainability insights and risk ratings to wild and farmed sources of seafood from around the world,” SFP Advisory Services Director Mercedes Mendoza said in a release. Meanwhile, Wholechain’s proprietary traceability software tracks seafood across its entire supply chain journey by documenting key data elements at each critical tracking event...

AA diplomatically described SFP's relationship with Persut as "not easy".

But talking with SFP insiders, they go further, describing “constant, daily conflict”. However, they genuinely believe their presence in government has moderated the hard-right ideology the Finns Party brings to the table.
