I transfered to UCSB's College of Creative Studies, which had no grades, in my Junior year and pretty much doubled the amount of work I did. Can't speak to the quality! But my motivation soared.
Occasionally reminded that Georgia added a “post tenure review” process bc they were so certain that professors became deadweight once they had job security, and all the outcomes have proven JUST THE OPPOSITE! People work harder and in more complex ways when they feel secure in their employment.

I know there are some who aren’t into Springsteen, but Bruce has always been a real one. I was there at UCSB’s Rob Gym when he performed for 3 1/2 hours in Nov. 1975 - the week he was on the cover of both Time and Newsweek. He gives his all and speaks truth. And boy, did he touch a nerve last night.

At UCSB's College of Creative, I studied with the astounding Shakespeare theorist Richard Corum, whose work on Hamlet shows how the construction of revenge serves the top of the homosocial tournament. It keeps everyone in justified fear and paranoia, cementing our dependence on the boss's favor.
Bouie writes a nice piece here. We can see the insane revenge schemes each week.

I would imagine though, every person in Trump's circle who contributed to the Iran war will be an IRGC revenge target for their lifetimes.

Revenge is pointless and wrong, but it also cuts both ways.
