I just read the complaint and it is a brutal indictment of UHC's antisocial behavior. Not a lawyer, but I'm pretty sure this is a really, really clever bit of legal activism intended to (deservingly) drag UHC's reputation through both the courts and the court of public opinion.

If the murder of UHC's CEO is the IP of UHC, then I have new/additional concerns about the company.

Also - Pfizer is probably very annoyed with UHC’s non-approval of treatment too, since that means lost revenue for them
of all the dumb things in the nontroversy about the judge who took Mangione’s plea being married to a corporate lawyer who retired from Pfizer 15 years ago, my fave is when folks report breathlessly that he “still receives a pension from them”

UHC's self-serving end-run around the 80/20 rule is morally bankrupt and blatantly defies the spirit of the law no matter how you look at it.
But they have been so far allowed to continue the practice, because I suppose it's "technically" legal.
