Pretty common. I've worked with vfd's for decades. A lot of these people have hero dreams but never were able to be professional firefighters, paramedics, flight crew personnel. Psych. Screening should be mandatory.

I didn't even associate this stuff with military service- for that realm o wanted to be in the infantry and that's what I ended up doing. But I love buttons and switches and VFD's. I love gauges. Idk.

Yup the VFD's need the community support because in some communities it's the only Fire Department.

Otherwise, best of luck in your search. The pumps I've worked with directly are bigger, industrial, and run off AC VFD's. Great flow control ranges, which is what led me to search on bldc pumps, thinking you might get similar controllability.

Sadly Advantest will not supply VFD's for the R6581 DMM.
Falling like flies, VFD's go dim after just a few years.
Reversed engineered (MickleT) and my own hi-res TFT LCD.
Ppen-source, free for others to retrofit to their own R6581's.

a shame vocal boss themes wasn't something they thought of doing until VFD, and tbh none of those really hit as hard as it would have for mizuchi (bc if im being honest VFD's story is. not that good lol)

i love vfd's and vu meters.
I feel like playing with breadboards and PLC’s make me much more comfortable in understanding how dead simple these things are.
The conversions are even simpler when people mate them to manual gearboxes to reduce the need for complicated motor management/VFD’s.

We are lucky, most of the prairies that we manage are rural and we have a great relationship with our Rural VFD's.
