If you do not make it clear — as voters did — that this administration’s crimes and lurch toward authoritarianism are intolerable, you send the message that they’re tolerable.
"The American people don't want us to get even; they want us to get things done on their behalf."

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, who is now poised to become the next House Speaker, says that Democrats will focus on affordability concerns and not retribution after their midterm wins.

Yayyyyy!!! The Supreme Court tonight swiftly rejected the Trump administration’s request to force California to set aside up to 20,000 mail-in ballots over allegations that they could be submitted by noncitizens.

Right, the pundits want to draw the usual false equivalence between Trump's politically-motivated prosecutions that tried to invent crimes out of thin air and Democrats finally applying longstanding laws to the administration's blatant crimes.

Those are not the same thing, at all.
All this talk of "getting even" or payback or whatever. It's not "getting even". It's enforcing the law. Say that. Correct that. Don't fall into that trap. There's absolutely no reason to.

I am so over this vague, meaningless, namby pamby unity-division dichotomy. There is no room to both-sides this moment. We are fighting to care for each other in spite of this administration’s ethos of active harm and disenfranchisement.
Tonight, the American people sent a clear message — they want a politics that brings people together rather than divides them, and leaders who offer concrete solutions to the challenges they face.

I’m not trying to be pollyannaish here but the administration’s capacity to pull stunts like this probably implodes if they get slaughtered today. This stuff relied on the perception of Trump’s strength - people felt like they had to to along with it.
This is such garbage! Like with my client Davey Hearn or Jim Comey, AG James, the sandwich thrower & MANY others, the Trump admin is openly abusing criminal powers for political purposes. Fed & state courts have ruled that the ballot is legal. No normal admin would be doing this on election day.
