This Thanksgiveoween I am thankful for Blizzard's writing team who gave us TWO whole troll characters in Midnight(!) - a bad one to make an example of, and one to show us how the good ones behave themselves 🤗

that is, at minimum, blizzard's intention.

How well it plays out, anybody's guess.

BUT one of their goals here for Forever is to take the niche/weird/awkward/doesn't-do-anything specs from classic and push them into their modern roles.

IE Shadow and Ret are real DPS specs now.

They made up a surprisingly heavy amount of the Primalists' all-shaman forces in Dragonflight, so Blizzard's at least been considering the idea of nelf shamans. Though Forever shaman probably wouldn't be connected to the Primalists so what their story could be is up in the air.

Overwatch has struggled to convince players that it still has a story worth telling. Has this newest arc done anything for those waiting for something great? @cassmarshall.bsky.social shares their thoughts:

Did Blizzard actually manage to solve Overwatch's story problem?
Blizzard's Rise of Talon story just came to a close - but was it a successful experiment?

One version of this mentioned the "diversity chart," but it was off point. I think it's fine, though Blizzard's affinity for East Asians needs to chill out. Sojourn going from poster girl to just another character, Sierra's debut outshined by Shion etc...

Deleting it that fast probably made the rumor louder. Blizzard's social team just accidentally hit the speculation button.

My stance on shop stuff will never change, but I think Blizzard's trying to walk a line between Lovecraftian themes and Kul Tiras.

Problem is, there's no line.

Instead, players will be assigned a random character based on regional census data, server demographics, and Blizzard's internal understanding of their personality.

Race changes will remain available for $25.

No dressing it up otherwise is going to make this better. We can't ignore the literal giant squid cathedral in Stormsong and claim this is anything but Kul Tiran. I don't expect better from Blizzard's decision makers at this point.
