Charlo…? What were you thinking about?

Bi-weekly comic made by @jarggyroo.bsky.social and myself!
First panel: Charlo and Doe are walking about their day where you can see some balloons in frame Second panel: Charlo’s attention is grabbed by something that reveals in panel 3 Third panel: Charlo watches as some individuals are playing on an inflatable dragon as they slide out from its mouth Fourth panel: Charlo thinks about "something" with a chuckle behind his closed teeth, his thought bubble seems to imply him eating "pellets" Panel Five: Doe almost telepathically knows what Charlo is laughing about, and cuts off his thought saying "Don’t even think about it!" While his arms are crossed.

#9: Dance

Dance til you DROP dead.
Panel 1-4: Both friends seem to be in a middle of some intense workout. Panel 5: Turns out they are playing Dance Dance Revolution. Panel 6: Charlo seems to have difficulty seeing the dance pad below as he comments on how his large tummy is obstructing his view. Panel 7-8: Charlo accidentally took one wrong step and slips on the dance pad Panel 9: Doe is deep into concentration unaware that Charlo is about to topple over them. Panel 10-11: Doe is flattened under the immense weight of Charlo. The dragon is embarrassed by their accident.

#14: Exhale

It escapes when we least expect it
Panel 1: A goat is sitting down while instructing Charlo and Doe. "Let is all join together to find our inner piece. But first Panel 2: "We shall perform our breathing exercises." The goat says looking towards Charlo and Doe sitting side by side, in a relaxed zen pose Panel 3: "Breath in." The goat instructs, Charlo follows breathing in through his nose Panel 4: "Breathe out." Says the goat, Charlo begins to breathe out- Panel 5: Charlo unexpectedly burps as it completely disrupts the quiet and zen Panel 6: Charlo holds his hand up to his mouth in a flush of embarrassment and a smile saying "hehe… pardon me."

#7: Karaoke

Gotta sing together!
Panel 1: Charlo starts singing 'Soda Pop' by Saja Boys (Kpop Demon Hunters) Panel 2: Doe picks up the next line of the verse. Panel 3: Both continue singing the song together Panel 4: Charlo gets lost in the moment and starts swinging around knocking Doe out of the shot. Panel 5: Doe flies back onto the couch tipping back Panel 6: Charlo goes silent as he noticed what he has done to the small kangaroo friend. Panel 7: Doe appears to be ok, picking up where they left off in the song Panel 8: Charlo continues to sing along with the song as he helps reaches down and helps Doe up off the couch. Panel 9: Both sing together finishing the song.

#5: Flowers

Spring fever, but to another level.
Panel 1: Charlo and Doe are out gardening. Doe is harvesting carrots while Charlo is watering some flowers. Panel 2: Charlo looks down at his flowers and says, "These flowers are looking pretty..." Panel 3: Charlo lowers his head towards the flowers and says, "Pretty enough to smell!" Panel 4: Charlo takes a big SNIFF at the flowers. Panel 5: While sniffing, a petal gets shot up into his nostril. Panel 6: Charlo snorts while he feels the petal stuck inside his nose. Panel 7: He starts to feel a sneeze coming on Panel 8: "aaaAAAAAAAHHHHHH- Panel 9: Doe approaches Charlo with a basket of carrots and says, "Done harvesting these carrots big guy! Would you like to- Panel 10: A BIG SNEEEEEEEEEZE blows Doe away! Panel 11: Doe flings back from the sneeze and crashes against the wooden fence. Charlo feels the aftermath of the sneeze. Panel 12: Charlo says, "*sniff* I'll take a handful. Thanks..."

#11: Ride

Sometimes, you just go along with it.
Panel 1: Doe is telling Charlo that his idea would not work. Panel 2: Charlo is crouching down under a sign that says 'You Must Be This SHORT' still convinced that he can be small enough to go. Panel 3: Defeated by facts, Charlo plops onto his back all frustrated. Panel 4: Charlo explains how he was looking forward to a water log ride called 'Honey Mountain' at a park called 'BuzzyLand'. Also mentioning how no one said anything about a height requirement. Panel 5: Doe thinks up an idea on how they can still get on. Panel 6: Since Charlo cannot fit onto the log, he just has to be the log instead! Embracing Doe in his arms, the two friends slide down the big drop!

#4: Spring

Charlo might have to reflect on his actions after he runs away.
First panel: Charlo is in a very good mood! He stands out in the middle of a parkland. He say "Ah, spring! A time for new beginnings and new awakenings!” Second panel: Charlo considers what he just says by saying: "speaking of awakening, I feel like I’ve been in hibernation for ages, let’s get a good stretch to start off right!" Third panel: Charlo prepares the stretch Fourth panel: Charlo does a super stretch as the beautiful sun reflects off his belly. Fifth panel: a gorilla is driving in the distance, unaware of this belly that is shining so gloriously. Sixth panel: the gorilla looks over in confusion as to what started getting brighter and is peripheral vision Seventh panel: the gorilla gets blinded by the light, the belly light, the light cast by the belly. Eighth panel: the gorilla fucking dies. (Maybe) Charlo, it surprised by this, and is aware of what he has caused as he says ""… maybe I’ll hibernate a little longer?"

#8: Shower

Would YOU help him?
1/8: Doe wakes up presumably from bed, indicated by a stretch and yawn, sleepy roo 2/8: Doe hears a rumble sound in the distance with some rushing water 3/8: Wut dat? 4/8: Doe sees in the distance steam clouds coming out from his bathroom 5/8: As Doe peeks in a voice greets him. "Oh! Good morning, Doe!" 6/8: It’s Charlo, and he is seen using Doe’s Shower. "Hope you don’t mind if I borrow your shower." "It’s been rather difficult to have some privacy when you have to clean yourself at the park's waterfall each day." 7/8: Charlo asks Doe "Oh! And… while you’re here! Could you be a sweetie and assist me on reaching all the…" 8/8: Charlo turns over to show his rumpus, and shows just much he doesn’t fit in the shower. He says "Er… 'hard to reach' places? And a good dry afterwards?" We can see Doe is more than a little embarrassed about this request.

#6: You’re Not Alone

You’ll never be alone.
Frame 1: Doe is coming back from somewhere, he’s talking on the phone and just about to finish up. Frame 2: Doe is about to walk into their apartment, as seen in the frame. There are cracks around the door prior to Charlo’s breakdown of the door from the animatic: The Deli on Youtube Frame 3: Doe walks into the door, you could see an over looming presence in the distance Frame 4: that presence gets closer, enhanced with the text that shows Charlo getting closer with loud footsteps Frame 5: that’s a confused kangaroo Frame 6: Doe a surprised to see a huge presence tower over them, they look super scary :( Frame 7: Doe is snatched up and Charlo goes rushing towards another room with Doe in cradle Frame 8: A beanbag chair with a shadow over it Frame 9: A beanbag chair, this time it’s cast over by Charlo’s big fat shadow Frame: 10: The beanbag freaking dies, with an overwhelming boom as Charlo falls back into the seat, crushing that beanbag, which a surprising amount of endurance for a big fat dragon to fall into Frame 11: Charlo is seen comforting Doe, he had overheard what they said on the phone and so he is giving him comfort, letting him know that he is not alone in the struggles he faces.

#10: Earthquake

Some sounds can change how one dreams.
P1| Doe is sitting out over the edge, looking out into the night sky, as a shooting star flies over his head. P2| Doe says: "Boy, it sure is beautiful tonight." Talking about how nice outside feels. P3| Doe continues: "if only he could see this himself. I would not have it any other way." Speaking about Charlo, and wishing that he was here with Doe during the night. P4| Doe hears rumbling suddenly beneath him P5| as he looks behind him to witness cracks forming and creeping up on him where he’s sitting, P6| Doe begins to attempt to run back to beat the cracks forming in the cliff. "no no no no no no no no no." He says. P7 P8| Doe’s foot steps on a broken rock and begins to plummet down into an abyss. P9| we are revealed that Doe was sleeping, and appears to be falling only in his dream, while he’s sleeping on top of something… P10| that’s something that Doe was sleeping on was a big fat dragon belly, which happens to be gurgling and rumbling. This caused Doe’s dream to suddenly shift and the rumbling caused the rocks to start cracking. Meanwhile, in Charlo’s dream we can see him having a wonderful time. He appears to be behind a really large donuts while holding onto a cake, who would’ve guessed that he’s hungry? As Charlo’s says: "Oh boy! I’m starving!!!"

Hello, if you are expecting a description to each frame of the strip today, I thought instead of doing that, it would be more fun to talk about how much I appreciate those who come to read this alt text. We’ve made one for almost every strip! While it isn’t necessarily entitled to have a written description each time, me and Jarggy always find it nice to wrap it up in a nice text format albeit simple. Doe will be fine! Dragons aren't as heavy as they appear... or at least as heavy as other creatures when they get big!

One of us other dragons needs to teach Charlo how to work with his belly momentum and engage that tail. Anyone who claims "feet only, no tails" deserves to be eaten. 😈
