Except for the fact it is fast becoming equitable where everyone just gets paid shit instead of lifting workers up to match a fair pay. I would defer to Labour historians on the genesis of this. But imo it may be this 2013 speech by Yvette Cooper where she indulges 2 such fantasies; the first being that the pace of immigration under New Labour was too fast, and the second of which being that reducing immigration will increase wages
