day 5 of my self-proclaimed rintober using inktober's prompts
Inktober's downfall was partly its creator misbehaving and social media exposure making impossible standards. You were not required to create full detailed pieces, but some big artists did, making others think it was either that or nah.
If anything, inktober's is a cautionary tale on expectations.

Remember, in October another year to do any other art challenge -but- the "Inktober" one for next month.
Inktober's creator plagiarized black artist Alphonso Dunn's book almost page for page. The caucasity will never sit well with me, so do Drawtober, Goretober, Kinktober, ect instead. 👌

Gremlin floof sketch for Inktober's 7th prompt, 'Panic'
I asked myself what would make a floof panic? It's having their shiny things taken!

inktober's collapse a few years ago and now nanowrimo's fall has once again reinforced my core principle: never participate in any events

Longstory short. Apparently everything you make from now on for inktober will be under inktober’s copyright. “No fun allowed” thanks to inktober becoming a soulless corporate entity.. so don’t do it unless you’d like your work to become inktober’s work

ngl I don't think we need to make up stuff about inktober's creator, he really did a bunch of bad stuff that ruined his reputation and his challenge alone, no need to decorate it with half-truths.
That being said, if anybody wants to challenge themselves into making inks for a month, that's cool.

This is a little late, but better late than never! Inktober's prompt for October 2nd was Relic. This piece is simpler than I intended, but I think it works well! I really love the shading and highlights of the gem in the center of the crown. #inktober #relic #inktober2026 #digitalart #art
