Y'know, looking back, it is FUCKING WEIRD that Mario & Luigi Dream Team has 0 references to Super Mario Bros. 2.
AKA: the other Mario game famous for it's dream setting?
Still a 10/10 for me, but having Wart/Mouser as a superboss after Mario slept on a certain Pi'illo...might've made it an 11/10!

Pi'illo isle feels like that one Last Airbender episode except it's never acknowledged "Turning ancient ruins into tourist attractions and destroying said isle in the process is bad".Imagine how the poor Pi'illo feel about what happened to their Home and they're just expected to accept it

Silly headcanon-
Since the last MODERN game Toadsworth was in was Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, I think he’s just chilling on a long vacation in Pi’illo Island after all these years. 🏝️😆

Daily Nintendo LGBT+ Rep: Bedsmith Bedsmith is a gay Pi’illo from Mario and Luigi. Bedsmith is an expert bed maker who literally wants to sleep with the character Prince Dreambert, as in use him as a pillow. He is shown blushing when thinking of Dreambert, and has a stereotypical “gay” personality.

There are even characters that block off Pi'illo Blimport because a bunch of people are frantically trying to leave the island

I only just learned that this was a thing two years ago, but it's still so cool that the devs took the time to do all that for such a small moment of time in the game

Look Guys Look it's Dreambert, Ruler of the Pi'illo Kingdom and Husband to the Nightmare King who later got cursed and turned into a Bat Monster.
The 2nd Best Pi'illo character in the game and no I will not shut up about Royal Nightmare, enjoy the Doomed Yaoi propaganda kekekek /silly.

Putting the bean up against those 3 is unfair af, he's so getting destroyed.
And then the two Twinks lose to Bedsmith cuz it's Bedsmith, don't mess with the Pi'illo

Prince Dreambert's unexpected kiss!~ 💕 These two are hilarious together. Although I imagine the affection all being one-sided on Bedsmith's part. Poor Dreambert. XD Nobody can resist the fluffy Pi'illo Prince! (1/3/25) #bedsmithdreamteam #bedsmith #dreamsmith #princedreambert #marioandluigidreamteam

To clarify, I grouped BIS with the earlier games. Variations in Toads, as well as Bowser's minions were much more prevalent, while Dream Team needed to rely on new species for Pi'illo Island.

There was a Pi’illo to the right of the drill station before the Torkscrew chase, but it’ll take less than 5 minutes to rescue it.
I like using the button to transform Luigi into a Luiginary work to be a good call button. Luigi falls into a pit but Mario doesn’t? Boom! Problem solved.

Kylie Koopa always felt like a neutral entity to me in the Mario & Luigi games, not against the bros but not fully an ally either, though she did help them on occasion. Perhaps that's a good way to bridge the "Koopas are evil" gap the movies set up. #MarioMovie #MarioMovieSequel #MarioMovie2
