Don't forget that there wouldn't BE a timing issue if SCOTUS hadn't gutted pre-clearance. States are only "free to decide for themselves" whether or not to discriminate at the last minute because SCOTUS said black voters didn't need pre-clearance protection anymore

Well, we were partly wrong. The majority didn't even bother mentioning Purcell by name.

But the idea that States can reshape elections after voting is underway and for the purpose of discriminating and that's just... okay? And no federal court may step in?

Michigan Senate nominee Abdul El-Sayed could become eligible for access to classified information if elected in November. Members of Congress generally are not required to obtain a formal executive-branch security clearance, though classified access is still subject to need-to-know rules. The issue is drawing scrutiny from national security and policy experts, who point to El-Sayed's past associations and statements. His campaign disputes the criticism.

I never understood why one of the first doctors to push handwashing before surgery was hated and ostracized by his colleagues. I understand now, but wish I didn't.

You can’t have it both ways. You can’t be “It’s simple math, vote blue no matter who, grow up” and ALSO believe you are fighting fascism by making calculations as to who’s expendable. The world we’re in now demands more from us. More from everyone.
