Thank you very much Susan!

Thank you Rebecca, the concept of a sentient land (Country, in Australia) in many cultures, has taught me new ways of thinking and relating. I make no claims to Indigeneity. I'm grateful to live in an interesting world with interesting people and other interesting beings.

So true.
Some of those ghosts are welcoming.
Others, well...

You give us such a calm fall evening, Susan. You reminded me of a Wabenaki song about the stars that sing with their light. I don't have permission to quote their song. I write in my own words -

green chorus of leaves,
tan chorus of owls: sing with
bright chorus of stars

three haiku from the sentient pond for #HaikuSaturday

pond wanting to see:
bird, beaver, fish, reed, bush, tree,
stream, shore, sky: you, me

pond wanting to hear:
hawks' calls, gulls' cries, frogs' croaks, the
occasional: bear

pond wanting to be:
watery ambitions for
growth: someday, the sea

Still quite proud of this one. It was displayed outside the Royal Society of Geography :)

(just for fun)

That is wonderful twice (the haiku itself and the recognition). Congratulations Jenn!
