Over 18s often still have to pay their own expenses, even if they still live at home. Let alone the poor kids who have to provide everything for themselves.

At senior school, at certain age, gen Ys 8&9, we turn feral, I did. Always have done.
Any positive role models will help. Girls have it just as bad too.

I remember early 1970s going into a barred/grilled off licence in Glasgow.
In 1980s, my town in Essex was rife with pro-shoplifters.
Poverty. Better security in nice places is to keep the poorer thieves away from nice towns.
