I started with one half of the silhouette [and mirroring it] for the idle stance, set the base colours for the metal and the fabric/ feathers, added more colours for highlights and shadows, and finally placed the accessories [shield and sword].

I did this quick barn scene this morning as a feedback to a post in another group. The posted tile set had a few issues - mainly with the use of colours and outlines.

In this video, I create a neurographic style pattern. This can be achieved in all versions of Affinity. The functions needed are compounds, contours, layer effects, and symbols.

I enjoy working with colourful shapes and had a lot of fun putting them together to a challenge on my Facebook group 'Inkscape - hands-on'.
Enjoy!

Beginners challenge - Mask
I played around with bevel and Gaussian Blur FX in Affinity for my tiki mask.

I love to combine vector design tools and pixel art. The vector tool allows quick creation with basic shapes and very easy editing. It makes it a lot easier to recycle art in order to create variations.

I am still playing around with pixel art tiles. It's time for some gardening...

The morning went a little different than expected... but I had fun [and you wouldn't really call it procrastination, would you? 😁]

A quick mockup for a feedback on using less saturated patterns and muted colours for the background [room] and more colour, contrast and stronger outlines for the gameplay elements [player & items].
It's fun to play with a 16x16 pixel tile set.

Here's a quick approach to the pose, colouring, and shading of a [rather large] character.
[I decided to start another Facebook group - "Pixel art - hands-on" with tutorials, support, and as aa showcase for beginners and pros alike.]

Here's take 2 with a more obvious path effect in Inkscape for the infinite loop.
In this video, I want to show you how to use the path effect alongside the Shape Builder Tool to create a multicoloured infinite loop and more.

Affinity Designer 2 and Affinity v3 offer Mesh/ Warp groups to deform vector content. They can also be applied to text. In this video, I warp a few lines of text into one half of my cartoon face.
Enjoy!

In this video, I use Affinity v3's fill type Mesh to create a watercolour effect for a Christmas tree design.
The new fill type is a great addition and allows awesome organic patterns and flowing gradients.

The inherited adjustment to position, scale, rotation, and skew is called "Power Duplicate" in Affinity.
It's incredibly helpful and very versatile, but also comes with limitations.
