Pakistan brokered the secret US-China backchannel in 1971. It was a key interlocutor in the Geneva Accords to end USSR occupation of Afghanistan. It also facilitated the 2020 Doha Agreement and has, on several occasions, attempted to mediate between KSA and Iran.
