At Faye Bainbridge Park. 22x14” watercolor. Last year I fought hard to let go of details and loosen up. Today I embraced those details - I think that’s just who I am!! Happy 2026 #stunday #artyear #watercolor #painting #bainbridgeisland #landscape

I have been in a funk, and haven’t been able to finish a painting worth sharing in weeks. This isn’t my best…but it’s finished!! And that feels like a good step. 10x14” watercolor. My own reference pic from a trip to Ruby Beach, WA. #ArtYear, #BlueSkyMonday, #JuneSea #Art #Watercolor #painting

Spring at Warbler Ridge Pond. 14x20” watercolor on paper. I’ve been taking more “nature walks” to escape the news that just keeps getting worse. Hopefully you can take a breath and feel the spring sunshine and hear the birds with this one. #art #artsky #artyear #watercolor #landscape #painting

More coots hiding in the floodwaters. Jumped to a half sheet for this one, (14x20”) watercolor on 300lb paper. Really trying to let go of details and add more bold and free applications of the paint in some areas. #art #watercolors #artyear #artsky #landscape #painting

Obviously painting tightly is a hard habit to break. I loosened up a bit in the water and rocks….but still have so much to learn (and un-learn)! 10x14” 300lb paper.
