Even as a feminist of colour I get such bad looks when I say bell hooks peddled a lot of victim blaming and I'm not surprised she's one of the black feminists who were allowed to become mainstream. Empire always allows people to rise when they still support it to a degree. I'd love to be wrong
Here, read this bell hooks book where she was clearly struggling to reconcile her own love for men with the fact that her abusers will never be held to account for their actions. Let's build a worldview out of cope because every institution and community and person will side with them over you.

What’s happening with the Welsh Gender Service has been covered elsewhere more eloquently but to see the main architect of all those cancelled surgeries being celebrated is absolutely ghoulish. Not a single thought for the lives he’s impacted here, in pursuit of his hatred.

On a personal note, if it wasn't for the Welsh Gender Service being set up, I don't know how much longer I might have stayed in the closet. The old system, literally actually called the gatekeeping system meant seeing CMHS to decide whether or not you got a referral. To London.
The UK is a fucking clown country I swear to god. The Welsh Gender Service, which despite its issues (it's still British healthcare after all) has been effectively shut down for not actively mulching trans people and using them to fertilise the kings lawn

Referrals have been stopped, and scheduled surgeries have been cancelled. My friend's scheduled surgeries have been cancelled. One of them was told while in their hospital bed waiting to go into the operating room. This will kill people. This will kill my friends.

What possible reason could they have for doing this? The Times wrote an article highlighting how Wales, a nation 1/20th the size of England, has had more referrals for gender affirming surgeries than the entirety of the English services.

They foolishly thought their job was to help as many trans people as possible instead of actively trying their hardest to prevent as many people as possible from transitioning. And that's what this country does, it punishes anyone who doesn't uphold the heterosexual regime
