I love this book so much. It's very much an example of how you can tackle heavier themes in light fiction while still being compulsively readable and fulfilling the genre promise.

I love this book so much. It's very much an example of how you can tackle heavier themes in light fiction while still being compulsively readable and fulfilling the genre promise.
Had a bunch of tweens dressed in 80's movie costumes who were RIDICULOUSLY impressed when a.) I knew all the references (my dudes, I can recognize Darth Vader and Marty McFly. Please.) and b.) I said I'd seen the movies in the movie theater.
Then they said I didn't look old.

Patrick Stewart story that I've told before: He did a few performances with The Improvised Shakespeare Company, one in New York (for about 15 minutes of the show) and one full show in Chicago. It was the upstairs at iO in Wrigleyville - maybe 100 seats. Nobody knew he would be there.

You mean like a barista who knows a regular? Or like a bartender that knows a regular? One of the small joys of working in hospitality is interacting with your regulars and the same goes for customers interacting with their favorite barista/bartender. This is so fucking dumb.
Starbucks CEO says the company is planning to focus more on AI and tech, including a adding system that would recognize customers as they arrive in stores to "present personalized digital menus."

I cannot stress this enough -- if you are using AI to write your emails you send to authors -- even if you are a legit podcast, or reviewer, or anything really -- we are not even reading them.
We get an influx every fucking day and we just don't read them now. We glance, see the AI & delete.
