24, she/her (transfem)

software dev with too much time on her hands
roughly interested in games, game modding, (old) malware
deeply stuck in Idol Hell

fka "what", "ironlake", probably other past lives in there I'd like to forget about
i really don't think it should be quite as shocking as it is to have a general feeling that the slop machine sucks regardless of what it is doing

... but the gaslighting is apparently working. it's gotten to the point where i almost want to stop doing the things i have enjoyed for over a decade.

anyways. new thing. idk if i'll finish it but i'd like to

finally figured out the arcane ways of the midi macros. impulse syntax kind of blows but i cant be bothered to switch to mptm for this because it's not unusably bad or anything

I'm honestly at the point where I'm highly considering releasing any emulator projects if I bother to do them under a very permissive license that doesn't permit either a libretro fork or a fork to make it a libretro core. sure it wouldn't be "libre" or "open source" anymore but I can't stand this

hey guys i made a shitty decomp that claude completely fucked into pieces LETS GO!!!!!!!!! ONLY FOR ASISTANCE!!!! !!!! YAY!!!!

what makes this somewhat funny, to me at least, is that most of the big usages of electron i know end up introducing system-dependent native code that has to be ported per-platform anyways, so it ended up not even managing to solve that acceptably, apparently
then again this ragebait argument existed a decade ago and is why electron aka 40 million line of code codebase to attain "portability" is a thing

(to a point i also feel quite iffy about like using godot or something. sure they're lighter but if youre writing a desktop application it feels extra)
August 7, 2026 at 1:39 PM
saying native applications are dead is probably the biggest fucking ragebait i've seen in a while

like "w-well it too hawd to port across operating systems" then don't. use qt or whatever, hell I'll even accept wxwidgets. theres a reason these libraries exist, because they solve the porting problem
August 7, 2026 at 1:36 PM
someone switching up from being the biggest anti-ai advocate to begging for slop because claude opus "made" a havok mopp exporter and converter (probably sourcing several no-no sdk leaks in the process) is like

??? make it make sense lol
August 4, 2026 at 12:47 AM
a slopbro "content creator" youtuber whos other projects are the most obvious gpt slop "content creation" minecraft mods and a website that is so gpt its not even fucking funny obviously stealing shit from me does not help this take

if anything it proves it
"ai can be a useful tool if used correctly"

so can this amazing thing you're born with called the cerebral cortex

too bad social media has rotted everyones brains beyond repair

llm psychosis is simply the finishing blow :)))))))

i'm never letting slopulism bros live this one down
I knew Planter was bad news, but Jesus fucking shit christ

the fact people are willing to brush everything off just because "Oh it was a decade ago surely he's reformed right?" doesn't sit well with me at all

a extremely thinly veiled apology for the Nazi tat which later was rescinded isn't change
Platner discussing defiling a corpse as show of dominance and that it’s not done as much now only because of the state of media (2013)

What layer of irony are we on when the biggest anti-AI-crawler PoW proxy (anubis) is pretty clearly vibecoded

thinking about how for most of my life i've had to be pushed into some of the better moments kind of feels like a double edged sword

for almost all of these moments i'm extremely grateful i got the push out of my comfort bubble, but for some of them i feel quite conflicted about it

audacity 4 is a premium master class in how you take a extremely good, very respected, piece of software and fuck it up irrepairably with tons of garbage that it didn't need.

and also plant spyware and dark patterns into it, as if it really needed that either (it really didn't)

craziest thing i have read on fedi in a while:

post author posts comment citing casey musatori (a chud) going on yet another stupid rant about oop. someone replies. post author states that "right wingers" are proponents of "clean code".

whilist citing casey musatori

wish i could make this shit up

beginning to really feel like addressing incompatibilities with people or groups is a shortcoming of mine that's driven primarily by my upbringing

i can identify these things, i can put together the reasons as to why i feel that incompatibility exists

but i can't directly bring myself to say it
May 28, 2026 at 5:10 AM
well that was fun. nvme ssd my pc came with decided to start dying, so as an emergency, took one from another thing i had (which was used previously, but i know it was good) and i'm using that one now

from that experience not buying that fucking brand again lol

if you seriously think that janet mills was just going to be "susan collins with a D next to her name" then you are beyond high on your own supply

oh well. fauxgressives got what they wanted, a nazi in.. well, it can't be sheep's clothing because the nazi shit has already shown itself..

wayland is a great example of why compromise in software engineering is something you should strive for. in the goal of trying to make a better display system there's now dozens of duplicate protocols to do things which ideally should be common, solely because a compositor dev had some disagreement

honestly i only see myself moving off linux if freedesktop people manage to completely fuck it up and i'm sure as fuck not going to macos or windows over it

don't love linux but it's the least in my way and most distros aren't walking security holes by default like most *BSDs are
April 26, 2026 at 5:03 AM
why do i do this to myself? oh right, to feel something
April 25, 2026 at 3:56 AM
apparently it's a hot take now to think that MTG being stopped clock doesn't mean she's magically turned a new leaf

it's pretty God damn obvious its just another grift because trumpism is a dying cause. the second the gop finds someone more paletable she'll start grifting for the GOP all over again

if there's ever any salient advice i can offer, it's that you should always do what YOU wanna do

don't let someone else decide for you. wanna be a weird geek interested in ancient computers and making tracker music in the big '26? fuck it, ball. gain the elite ball knowledge YOU wanna know

pro tip: if you "do not have the mental energy for drama", perhaps you could just not attempt to subpost dunk after a conversation with someone

swear, some people just use that as an excuse to be shitheads on the internet with no repercussions
March 24, 2026 at 7:43 AM
i don't even like wordle, but seeing people i call my friends bitch and whine about the discord activity and outright try to ban it is like

just let people have their fun dude seriously. like i said, i don't see the enjoyment in it much, but I'm not going to go full stalin and go NO! U CANT WODLE
