great thread -- the tech counterpart to the aging or spent creatives who are also falling for it, as the promise of one last great idea, even if it isn't their own by any stretch. (& both groups don't realize others are still having groundbreaking ideas every day. just not them.)
And so, I think that part of what draws some tech workers into doom-coded strains of GenAI hype is an unacknowledged desire to recapture the sense that they're special people working on world-changing things. Doom narratives make their work seem important, puts their bosses in front of microphones.

lol idk who else has faced this problem, but google docs now shows larger word counts in the document. it used to stop at i think 5000, and you'd have to look it up in the menu. i wonder why this suddenly changed in 2026? (genuinely, if you know why or informed guess, i would love to hear!)

ok this little guy comes into unity real easy, though the material doesn't properly suck up the texture, maybe I'll just make a straight up picocad2 .txt file importer script so I don't have to hop through the obj exporter every time, should be pretty easy.
